As I mentioned in my previous article, some girls from the Volunteer state were invited to compete in the College Basketball Academy hosted by the NCAA and USA basketball. We had a few girls who were chosen to take the individual path to compete, however, we had a few teams from the state (some players who compete with out of state teams) were chosen to compete in the team portion of the event.

We had girls who suited up for FBC United, [program_tooltip program_id='713616' first='Tennessee' last='Flight'] Silver, AEBL, Essence, and United Family, all were picked to compete at this event. Talk about an awesome way to increase your stock, getting in front of collegiate coaches is what this event is all about. The girls who were chosen deserved the opportunity and are some of the most talented in the state we have. For them to be at this event, just shows you how blessed we are with the talent in this state. Personally, I know each of them will do well in it. They each are some go-getters, grinders who rise above the competition levels. Each other them as well are hard nose individuals who love to compete, and do some with great attitudes.

Good luck to those who have been chosen for this opportunity. Without further ado, check out the girls who will be in Rock Hill, SC this weekend at the College Basketball Academy.

[player_tooltip player_id='513228' first='Kimora' last='Fields'] (6'0/ Jr./ F/ Bradley Central)- One of the best around, this kid can beat you in so many ways. Offensively, she has a nice mid-range game to go along with her ability to play with her back to the basket. Used heavily in the screen game, she can step out and knock it down from a consistent clip. She is big on the boards, dominates her opponents on D, and runs the floor super well. I love her ability to block shots. A big time X factor, this kid can leave her mark on the game in so many ways, it's unreal. Great prospect who is a big-time athlete.

Has nice back to the basket moves, solid in the screen game, she has a knack for being in the right position for putbacks. She doesn't let people establish in the low post on the defensive end, inflecting physicality and dominating that area. She is very physical and love her presence down low. Solid kid who is a difference maker.

Haylen Ayers (6'1/ So./ G/ USJ)- One of the best in the state, she is such a phenomenal talent. A multi-level scoring threat, she is tough to handle on both ends of the floor. She sends shots back to where they came from. She is big on the boards, can start transition breaks. I love her ability to facilitate in the open floor or even when she is downlow getting double teamed. A phenomenal talent who is very polished at a young age. A heck of a kid who is a big-time star in the making.

[player_tooltip player_id='821657' first='Marley' last='Spiers'] (6'4/So./F/ Clarksville Christian)- An anchor in the middle of the floor, she uses her size to take up real estate. A beast on the offensive end, she knows how to operate around the blocks and the high post. Physically, she finishes through opponents. Defensively, she too can block shots with the best of them. Teams struggle with getting high % shots when she is down there. This kid is a nice finisher and is the total package of being a dominant big. Great talent who is tough to handle.
