About Aaleanna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile player who can score from anywhere on the court. I can get to the rim and draw the foul, shoot the mid-range jumper, and am a sniper from the arc. I play hard at both ends of the court averaging 10 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Mental toughness! I am able to focus on the next play without getting stuck on a mistake, turnover, or being down in a game. I do not give up until the buzzer goes off.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am an academic scholar. I am a strong student who has won spelling bees, has earned Presidential Honor Roll awards, and has been a member of the schools Science Olympiad.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am big on teamwork. I recognize that it takes a team to win games. I have earned the respect of my teammates and was captain of my AAU team and middle school team for the past 3 years. I am more than just a basketball leader, though. I am the friend that everyone wants to have- I'm a great listener, compassionate, empathetic, and ( I believe) a true role model.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I come from a large supportive family and I am the youngest of six. To me family is everything so, when my siblings moved out to go to college, it was hard for me. I was able to overcome that by spending more time with my parents, seeing my siblings on the weekends, and going to their athletic events.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school with a strong academic background. I am a STUDENT-athlete, and I value my education. With that being said, I also want to make sure that it has a strong athletic program with lots of student involvement.
