Initial 2028 Rankings: "Top 5" in Kentucky

Here it is folks, the moment you have all been waiting for! We know it is very early to rank the freshman class but from what we saw at the freshman showcase, along with extensive research, our own expertise, and insight from reliable sources throughout the state. We have compiled 124 players in our first ever 2028 rankings list. Keep in my mind, that this is only a starting point for rankings and the list will grow and change with each coming update.   Take a look at the "Top 5" freshmen in Kentucky!    With no surprise [player_tooltip player_id='961289' first='Ella' last='Buckman'] takes the top spot as the #1 freshman in Kentucky. The dynamic combo guard is a 3-level scorer with the ability to create her own shot from various spots on the floor. She does a terrific job getting others invoved and is no slouch on the defensive end either. Ella averaged 17.7 points a game, led Bardstown to a 22-7 record last season and already holds a D1 offer from Murray State University.     At the #2 spot we have the magnicfient [player_tooltip player_id='961302' first='Maliah' last='Courtney'], the enormously talented guard at Elizabethtown High School. I watched her at the Cardinal Classic back in June, and through the EYBL livestream of the Nike Nationals in July, and was blown away by her abilities. Her game is very polished; she has excellent passing skills, along with a smooth shooting stroke from 3-point territory, and I cannot forget to mention how much of a tenaciuos defender she is. Maliah led E-Town in scoring last season with 17.4 PPG, and will look to do much of the same if not more this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='961306' first='Alicia' last='Mangrum'] comes in at #3. Last season she averaged 19.4 points in 15 games played for Grace James Academy. LiLi has good size, length, and athleticism. She is a gifted-scorer that has a knack for putting the ball in the hoop. LiLi also has that "Killer Instinct" you like to see in a player with her type of offensive repertoire. I agree with Steve, she is going to score A LOT of points in her career.     We have [player_tooltip player_id='961274' first='Faith' last='Mosely'] as the #4 freshman in the state. She is the type of PG that elevates the play of others. She has elite ball-handling skills and quickness that allows her to navigate through defenses and create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Faith put up 17.6 PPG in 13 games for Grace James Academy last season and will be running the show at Butler this season.     Boyle County sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='785374' first='Addison' last='Yates'] rounds out the top 5. Addison has good size and great mechanics. She is a volume 3-point shooter that can knock down an array of 3's per game; all it takes is for her to see a couple shots go in. I think Addison has a lot of potential and from what I hear she is a hard worker that strives to get better and better.
