Snow Canyon vs. Sky View 12/12/25

Snow Canyon is one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification. They have a D1 PG and they also have a variety of players that can play at different levels at almost every grade. Sky View will be much improved and they will be a tough opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='788151' first='Olivia' last='Hamlin'] will have a lot of eyes on her and the defense will be aware of her at all times, which will likely open up opportunities for other players as she will attract extra help out in the perimeter and when she attacks the rim. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='788224' first='Kelly' last='Howard'] to really have a breakout season. She is a bigger guard that can score with ease at all three-levels of the court. In the perimeter she is dangerous in a catch and shoot and in the paint she can hit the mid-range and also get to the rim and the free-throw-line. [player_tooltip player_id='790569' first='Joey' last='Jensen'] could also increase her numbers, especially from beyond the arc on kick outs as a catch and shoot threat. [player_tooltip player_id='796500' first='Kaylin' last='Wynia'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1236663' first='Chaylee' last='Andrews'] will also be crucial as their size will impact the paint play as well.

Sky View will rely on [player_tooltip player_id='800656' first='Claire' last='Fischer'] this season as a big guard that will likely play multiple positions. She might even take on the best player regardless of positions. Her defense is something that will translate to the next level and continue to develop. [player_tooltip player_id='1164806' first='Mya' last='Eskelson'] is a player that is likely to step up and make a move in her development as she has the skills to do so. With her ability to shoot, she will need to hunt for more shots this season. Kaitlynn Shumann will have her work cut out for her patroling the paint looking for rebounds on both sides of the ball. This team has potential.

Green Canyon vs. Alta 11/26/24

Green Canyon has one heck of a pre-season schedule. They do return almost everyone from last years team and have high hopes for this year. [player_tooltip player_id='812025' first='Talyssa' last='Nelson'] is going to be one of their best players coming back. She has height as a guard and she can out the ballin the basket from anywhere out on the floor. She also rebounds very well. Look for her to not only play well but to make a name for herself as a next level player. Tori Jeppson is another player coming back with length which seems to be the story at GCHS is that a lot of these guards have length and that will help them as they get through a grueling pre-season.

Alta will have a very tough matchup for anyone as they try and track down [player_tooltip player_id='796802' first='Alia' last='Baldassano']. Baldassano is a next level PG that can shoot the ball. She posses a problem because you can't give her too much room but you also have to crowd her at times. [player_tooltip player_id='796804' first='Quincy' last='Kegel'] is a big guard that can matchup well with anyone and she can get physical. If she can shoot the ball a little better this year she is likely to not only have a breakout year but turn some heads as well. [player_tooltip player_id='984974' first='Brooklyn' last='Larsen'] is another tough guard that can help in the backcourt and she can shoot. [player_tooltip player_id='927416' first='Sophia' last='Ceballos'] is a young freshman making her way into the lineup as well. This is going to be a greta game.

Ridgeline vs. Grantsville 1/27/25

If the whole town is not at this game at Grantsville I am not sure what they are thinking because this is a bring your popcorn to the game type of a matchup.

Last season it really felt like Grantsville was going to run away with 3A until an upset victory against Emery stunned everyone. Ridgeline got the best of Grantsville last season as they won by 13 but this game will be different this season. a few new faces will need to step up for Ridgeline. Grantsville has a duo in [player_tooltip player_id='788281' first='Avery' last='Allred'] and [player_tooltip player_id='788225' first='Baylee' last='Lowder'] than can really go and both of these girls are being recruited by some solid next level programs. Allred is great on or off the ball and Lowder is one of the best two-way players at the 2 and 3 positions across the state. [player_tooltip player_id='873243' first='Kodee' last='Williams'] is a player on this team that we do not talk enough about but she is as solid a PG as they come. She can sure rack up steals and assist all day long. Do not be surprised if she flirts witha triple-double this year.

Ridgeline will be lead by a Top 10 talent in teh country in [player_tooltip player_id='772236' first='Emilee' last='Skinner']. She might see a lot of Box and 1's and just different defenses that will key on her and seeing how she will respond this year is going to be awesome. A few players that will be crucial on this team this year will be [player_tooltip player_id='796477' first='Abby' last='Munford'] and [player_tooltip player_id='789118' first='Makaydi' last='Jenks']. Jenks is a smart and streaky player that will likely handle the ball a lot. She can distribute the ball all over the floor and is almost like a QB out there. Munford will be a SF/PF type of a player that can really do work inside and she is great at tracking down rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id='796497' first='Reagan' last='Brown'] is a player that will likely step up this year and get some meaningful minutes.
