Martez Kirkland
Coach Martez Kirkland is a graduate of American Military University with a Bachelors degree in Business Management. He has been around basketball since the age of 4. After High School, Martez continued on to play college basketball for 1 season at Vance Granville Community college in Henderson (NC). Martez Kirkland is also a 22 year veteran of the United States Army. Enlisting in 1998, Martez has had numerous experiences in playing and coaching for unit teams at the intramural level stateside and abroad. Coach Kirkland begin his coaching career in Okinawa, Japan and has coached numerous recreational teams since 2003 in Fayetteville, NC. In 2008, he created an AAU organization named TCA Pistons (True Champions Athletics). Also, coach Kirkland has trained and develop numerous players from 5-19 years of age that have gone on and played at the collegiate level teaching them the fundamentals and advance level skills of the game. From 2016 -2018 coach Kirkland was hired as an assistant varsity girls coach at Freedom Christian Academy, coaching alongside former WNBA player and NC State stand out Tynesha Lewis. The following year he was hired as the Head JV girls basketball coach and continuing as the assistant varsity girls coach. In 2018 - present day Coach Kirkland was hired at Fayetteville Christian School as the boys and girls Associated head coach. In 2018 he was named Assistant coach of the year in the NCISSA Sandhills conference. In 2020 Coach Kirkland has been hired as the new boys head coach at Fayetteville Christian School.
