Renell Strait
Renell played high school basketball for Cedar Rapids Washington High School, and was a member of the 1988 State Championship team. After graduating in 1989 from high school, Renell played at Northeast Missouri State University (now known as Truman State University). In 1993, she graduated from Northeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Renell then was an assistant coach for Cedar Rapids Washington High School from 1993 - 1999. In 1995, she was a part of the 1995 State Championship coaching staff for Cedar Rapids Washington High School. In 2003, she started coaching for the AAU Panther program. The team she helped coach in the Panther program, won 8 AAU State Championships. After coaching for the Panther program, Renell re-directed her focus into starting a new basketball program for the youth and high school girls and boys of Eastern Iowa named Team Iowa. Renell is now in her 10th year of coaching and running the Team Iowa Basketball Program, and her 25th year of coaching overall. Renell lives in Cedar Rapids with her son, Hunter (18) who is a freshman on the Truman State Men’s Basketball team.
