Neumiller is an interesting prospect. She might best be described as a stretch four with the ability to operate inside or out on offense and defend multiple positions on the defensive end. She led the Trojans with four assists without turning the ball over during an early-season win at rival Iowa City High. Neumiller also netted 10 points and grabbed five rebounds, which highlighted her broad base of skills. She played a key role in getting the Little Hawks in foul trouble on this night. Neumiller displays great form on her three-point shot and is effective with either hand around the rim. Smooth lateral movement and long arms aid her in locking down on defense.

Neumiller was the calm, veteran presence for a balanced ICW team. While her specialty is shooting from deep (where she went 3/5 on the night), I think her poise in big moments helped her team gain momentum when they needed it most. Any time West seemed to lull you would find Neumiller to fill in the gaps with a solid play. Abby’s shooting ability combined with her size, demeanor on the floor, and defensive consistency makes for an energy-bringer on both sides of the floor. I was also impressed with Neumiller’s ability to play through foul trouble and finish the game to the final buzzer.

One of the best games of Week 2 comes to us in Iowa City on Tuesday night when CCA travels down the road to take on the Trojans. The key for this game is going to come down to personal and I’m not sure how the Clippers are going to stop

at the F/CG position for the Trojans. Neumiller stands right around 6’0 and she is a coordinated threat on both sides of the ball. She might not score the most points all the time but she has her moments. If you leave her alone next to the hoop or with a smaller defender on her she is going to make easy work of it. Neumiller is ALWAYS a rebounding threat, while being a better than average passer off the bounce or out of the post when she is double-teamed off the catch. There will be 5-6 future college players on the floor in this game at one time so it’s going to be fun to see who steps up and who shows out in the moment.

The natural size and movement that

presents on the hardwood is noteworthy. She has better than average height at 6’0, she can play inside-to-out, and she seems like a good teammate to those around her. She isn’t going to be the team’s main producer or focus this season but she will be in the conversation. With her touch, as long as she can be put in her favorable position near the bucket, she should put up some really nice stat lines. She displayed a little bit of everything today in this event. She moved off the ball well, made simple and smart plays, kept it moving physicality at all times, and she was really in shape compared to others around her. Three things that evaluators and college coaches love to see.

of IC – West High School the past few weeks. Several college programs at a number of different levels are interested in the Forward. Neumiller comes into July at 6’0 and she can shoot the rock at a high rate. She moves fairly well enough to produce as an outside-to-inside presence but she really cooks when she has her natural height advantage in place near the bucket. This size even helps her shoot jumpers over smaller opponents as well. I think Neumiller will find herself on a D2 roster at the end of the day. She might sneak up to the LM D1 level but I think she would thrive much more at a high end D2 than anything else at this time.

can do out on the Varsity floor. Neumiller is one of the Forward prospects for IC – West but this season she primarily contributed by averaging 10 PPG on the offensive end. Within those 10 PPG, she ended up shooting the ball at a higher rate than most, displaying her efficiency, mainly in the catch-and-shoot aspects of the game. During AAU, I’d like to see Neumiller mix it up a little bit more in the rebounding department on the inside. With her height at 6’0, she has that advantage to get in there and get her hands dirty. If she can add that to her game, she will return for her Senior Winter as a completely different prospect. Someone who is a little more, “lethal”, if you will.

caught fire in the first half and continued her hot streak through the second. Despite playing big minutes Neumiller didn’t show signs of fatigue and displayed a polished jumpshot that led her to a game-high 17 points. Going 5/9 from the three point line last night, Neumiller is deadly off the catch and doesn’t need much room to let it fly. She also displayed a solid ability to catch and shoot off of the cut — she’s balanced and fundamental on the move. At 6,” Neumiller can shoot over just about anyone and is a long, athletic performer on both sides of the ball for IC West.

is going to do this Winter with her Iowa City West Trojans squad but this is a team that has a solid system in place and some skilled prospects, so if she can find her opportunities early on in the season, she should be someone we hear about a couple times this upcoming season. Neumiller stands as one of the taller prospects on her Trojans team at 6’0 and she uses that height to her advantage every chance she gets. This program is going to start games quickly with their guard-play and then they will work from there. If everyone else can step up and do their jobs, it’s going to be interesting how their season unfolds in the very end.
