Abby was the key to the Swathers victory in which she led a comeback against Holcomb in the second half and went 6-9 from the field and also 50% from beyond the arc going 1-2 from there. She was perfect from the FT line in this contest and showed poise all throughout the game despite being down early. She proved that she can be a solid closer.

Do not look now but Hesston has one of the top power forwards in the class that has steadily improved over the years. In last year’s 3A state title game she hung 26 points, shooting 3/5 from three point land, in a hard fought loss to Silver Lake. She also collected 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. She used her transition speed, athleticism, hops, length and soft touch around the rim to score over or around any big the Eagles tried to defend her with. A Central Kansas League second teamer Proctor was also named to KBCA’s second as well as KSHSAA’s and Sports In Kansas’s honorable mention teams.
