Expert Analysis
Grant McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
On a 24-win Stewartville squad loaded with top-end talent, Ruffridge’s role is far less glamorous but no less important. Addison is a grinder down low, the kind of big body who can control the paint and make space for her teammates to grab headlines. She’s practically averaging a double-double. Why? Because she keeps the game simple, does the little things all quality post players do, and relishes contact. She has learned how to create space and leverage her assets to dominate others inside. Ruffridge plays with poise and the composure of a veteran and now moves up a remarkable 79 places in our rankings.

The 6’1 Ruffridge is a physical post with excellent footwork who knows how to be a difference-maker in the paint. She thrives by burying defenders under the rim in transition and punishes mismatches inside. Ruffridge has strong rebounding instincts and consistently carves out space for easy finishes. Addison has shown she can score and her game has grown a lot over the past year or so. St. Olaf may be getting a sleeper.

Ruffridge has impressed each time we’ve watched her over the past couple of AAU seasons. She consistently carves out deep post position, creating easy angles to score. At 6-foot-1, she has strong footwork, punishes mismatches, and has a knack for burying defenders under the rim in transition—an underrated weapon both as a scorer and on the offensive glass. She scored in double figures twice this weekend in one of her strongest showings of the summer.
