The Tusculum commit put together a very good summer for ETA Thunder ’25 (Smith) and watched a stock rise quickly. Offensively, you know what you’re getting: a highly skilled stretch that can really hurt a defense from three. Has made great strides from a defensive and rebounding standpoint–and that’s what Tusculum noticed no doubt. Everyone wants to score, and she can, but not all players want to defend. She proved she a willing defender. Well done.

I saw some really nice things from Patel defensively–and per the college coaches I’ve talked to, that’s what they need to see. Nobody questions her ability to knock down shots, and her offensive skill is excellent. Her ability to sit in a stance and defend, rebound, and block shots are what will take her game to the next level, and she’s started to show that this summer.

Patel had 8 last night for Bearden….and I thought looked great. When teams double the Hodge ball screen, Patel inevitably finds a lot of open looks, and she’s begun to bury them with confidence. She hit 2 big threes in a late Bearden push, but ultimately the Bearden defense wasn’t enough.
For Patel….the sky is the limit. She’s a 6’0 wing that is turning into a lights out three point threat. That’s a matchup nightmare, as with her length, she’s so hard to get a true contest of her shot. She’s a modern wing if I’ve ever seen one!

It’s simple, Patel should have more offers! An extremely talented 6 footer that has a beautiful 3 point shot! She shoots it at a high percentage too! Yes, she is blessed with size & length and she knows how to use it to her advantage! Don’t wait on recruiting Patel any longer!

One of the most underrated parts of Patel’s game is her passing ability! Yes, she has a beautiful 3 point shot. I’ve spoken about her footwork and finishing ability before. However, it looks like I missed how great of a passer she truly is! Aisha isn’t a point guard but you would never know that if you are looking at stats. In numerous games this year she has put up 4 assists, 5 assists, 4 assists, etc. Patel impacts the game in numerous ways and one way is definitely her great court vision! She is a 6 footer that should be on your radar!

Similar notes on Patel as Murphy above: Patel has got to be a scorer for this Bearden team. She knocked down three 3’s…and then her involvement in the offense kinda flickered out. This is where I want Murphy and Patel to know how important their role will be against the biggest teams (think Bradley Central). If Bearden can’t put three consistent scorers on the floor then they will have a tough time reaching the biggest goals. Patel CAN be one of those players….but she’s gotta be intentional about aggressively seeking those oppurtunities.

This was technically a Saturday game, but Bearden faced Hillgove, GA in a big time matchup. Patel knocked down four 3’s on her way to 12 points. And, as said above, it’s players like Patel that given Bearden the chance be so good. The Bearden role players are perhaps the best in the state.
