Akaysa Duitscher Akaysa Duitscher 5'5" | PG Pocahontas Area | 2023 State IA showed off her basketball skill to a T in their Semi-Final matchup. She played with tenacity on both sides of the floor. She did a great job of keeping the offense and ball moving while also creating some deflections on the defensive end. She showed off her scoring ability by getting to the rim in transition, getting a rebound and a put back or even hitting a catch and shoot jump shot. In both of their games at the Well Akaysa showed that she was the best player on the floor for her team. It was nice to see for her as she ends her senior season. In the end Pocahontas Area may not have won the contest to get to the final but they showed that they definitely belonged in this state tournament this season. Going forward they will be graduating all 5 starters from this year so they will definitely have adjustment to make for their 23-24′ campaign. Something I’m sure they aren’t too worried about at the moment.

She is passing out of her mind, scoring at her own pace, keeping everyone engaged and leaving it all on the floor each night. All these things have been essential all season long for the Indians and that doesn’t stop here. While averaging some great numbers and being a team leader this season you can imagine that her individual stock as a player has risen during this last year of her high school career. Going forward this group is going to have to stick to the formula and make some big shots, kinda what is asked of every team in this position. Who ever brings it more is going to bring home the W in the end.

Akaysa Duitscher Akaysa Duitscher 5'5" | PG Pocahontas Area | 2023 State IA was the second leading shot taker for Indians last winter, while also dishing out 5.5 APG to help lead Pocahontas Area High School to an overall 16-7 record, 7-4 in conference. Duitscher also averaged 11.5 PPG on 34% shooting, and 73.5% from the free throw line. The quick point guard has a solid game, being able to pass off of the catch or dribble, being able to shoot off of the catch or dribble, and being able to take over when the game is on the line. She is ranked as a top 100 player in the state coming into the 22′-23′ season with aspirations to jump up on that list while guiding her team to another successful season with a winning record.
