Expert Analysis
Brandon Tinnon | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A high-motor kid who competes on both ends of the floor. One who plays with such confidence, she is going to exploit any opportunity an opponent gives her. From dialing it up deep to being aggressive on the way to the rim, she is going to find a way to get a bucket and impact the game on both offense and defense. After this season, she will head to Iona and showcase why she was such an important signee for that ballclub. Until then, look for her to lead the Lady Tigers and be someone who will help galvanize the troops as they get back to their winning ways.

Alana is a combo guard who can control the flow of the game on both ends, she communicates well with her teammates. Defensively she calls out switches and screens, her voice serves as a guide for her teammates on defense. Not to mention that she’s a formidable on-ball defender with great active hands. She serves as her team’s facilitator on offense, controlling the traffic for them, setting up plays and making great passing decisions. What was most impressive to me was her ability to make something out of nothing when a play breaks down.

Alana is a high-impact two-way player whose defense fuels her offense. She’s a disruptor on that end of the floor, constantly creating turnovers with her quick hands and anticipation, then turning those into fast-break points with ease. In transition, she’s aggressive and efficient, finishing at the rim or making the right read to set up a teammate. Even in the half court, Alana remains a threat—she can knock down open shots with consistency and isn’t afraid to put the ball on the floor, get downhill, and draw contact. Her playmaking instincts and smart decision-making round out her game, making her a well-rounded guard who affects every possession.

Physical wing that is very aggressive. She can establish a presence on the interior or create from the arc. Will shoot it from 3 or attack gaps and finish in the paint. She is big on the boards, great in the transition game, this kid is a heady ball player who knows where to pick her spots. She brings physicality to the game on the defensive end. Disrupting any offensive motion that happens inside. She will be looked upon to boost the Lady Tigers club with juice, as they create a new identity this upcoming year. Alana has played within multiple settings this offseason. From camps to the circuit, she has done work and then some. Look for her to continue on an upwards trajectory and be one of the top solid players in a tough district.

Solid two-way player that can play inside and out. She can battle guards as well as defend inside players. As a nice stroke from 3, but will also put it on the floor either finishing at the rim or pulling up in the mid-range. Possesses nice speed and quickness, which she displayed on both ends of the floor. When she is on, she is on. The Lady Tigers of Ensworth really do have a gem on their hands. Talented kid who is primed and ready for a sensational year.

Wells put together a fantastic freshman season. She legit took on a leadership role on an Ensworth team that finished 27-5, and was State Runners-Up in Division II-AA. She was selected to the All-State Tournament team, along with her teammates

(two of the best players in the state). She already has several D1 offers (including Xavier).
She’s a 5’11 “power guard” that is at her best attacking the rim and using her high-level strength and athleticism to finish through, or, around defenders. She knows how to use her strength to create an advantage in almost all situations. You can also find video of her getting into “Barkley’s” off the dribble, which is super advanced for a ’26. She has really nice quickness, but more importantly, has some shiftiness that makes it almost impossible to stay in front of her. She’s great at initiating contact, and using the bump to create an advantage. Once she becomes a consistent outside shooting threat, she’s another kid that could skyrocket up the rankings.
