Taylor was another point guard prospect who I had seen recently at the Prep Girls Hoops Expo in Lebanon, Tennessee. There, in addition to her point guard duties, Hollins proved her ability to knock down shots from behind the three-point line and midrange, in addition to getting to the basket and finishing. Taylor did the same on Sunday, but with a very talented cast around her focused more on spreading the basketball around rather than scoring herself. She did a great job initiating and facilitating the offense and when Hollins got the ball back, she kept it moving. She plays the game with a high IQ, which was seen especially feeding the post. Taylor never got into a rush, waited on her teammate to establish position, and then hit them between the numbers in a position to score.

Displayed grit and toughness on both sides of the ball. Knocked down shots from multiple spots on the floor, especially in the mid-range. She was in attack mode, getting past defenders and making the right reads. You can tell this kid is playing with such confidence as she went at opponents. Look for her to compete and help this Lady Tigers ballclub make some noise this season. She’s a kid who will get after it and make a bigger name for herself along the way.

Hollins was very impressive picking and choosing her spots when to score and when to facilitate the offense for her team. Hollins kept her dribble low and her head high as she weaved in and out of traffic with the basketball, setting up easy scores for Team Eight more times than not it seemed. When defenders gave Taylor space, she punished them by knocking down shots from three-point range. When they chose to crowd her, Hollins used one or two quick escape dribbles before hitting a dribble combination and going by them. She was also a positive, vocal leader on the floor and on the bench keeping her teammates laughing and engaged. Elite handle with the ability to score from all three levels.

Taylor Hollins Taylor Hollins 5'5" | SG/PG Ensworth | 2029 TN is a floor general. She has an innate ability to find a way to progress possessions. Whether that is dribbling through a crowd of defenders for a layup or passing it to an open teammate, Hollins is constantly making the correct play.

Hollins’ passing ability stands out in her game greatly. She does a good job at getting her center involved. This, in part, comes from Hollins being especially good at placing post-entry passes.

Hollins is also an above-average perimeter defender and shooter.

Shifty guard who can get paint touches with ease. Has a nice, quick first step to complement her bag of handles, which enable her to attack downhill effectively. Her defense also stands out as she is willing to turn a PG, creating havoc, making it difficult to operate. Has great foot speed and can hurt opponents in multiple ways. Look for her to help the Lady Tigers’ ball club out. I suspect she will earn some valuable minutes and then become an essential part of the program as the Lady Tigers look forward to taking the next steps towards becoming a formidable team.
