Alani Devone Alani Devone 5'7" | PG/SG College Park | 2030 TX boasts an EXPLOSIVE first step alongside an impressive ability to drive to the basket. If defenders do not lock in or lose focus for a split second, she will blow right past them and finish at the rim before they even realize it. Having previously written an article on Devone highlighting her 3-on-3 matchup, I really love the way she plays the game. She shows an excellent understanding of how to create space with sharp basket cuts, and she is completely fearless when she dives into the paint to fight for rebounds against the trees. On the other end of the floor, she is an absolute pest defensively, making life difficult for opposing ball-handlers with her constant pressure.

Devone gave me a great first look during the season at Shooting 4 Da Cure, a perfect example of being where I can see you, and I was so impressed with her being heady and applying heat defensively see evaluation here. Yet the tide has turned upward because her crossover was among the best at the event, as she scored off the dribble and gave me the “catch and shoot” while being defended

Devone’s first step is lethal. If you don’t hedge early to cut off her driving angle, she is already at the rim, scoring buckets with a nice finishing touch around the rim. What stood out most was her defense. She rebounded with authority and had no problem battling inside the paint to score. Out on the perimeter, she consistently sits in passing lanes, disrupts ball movement to grab deflections, and turns those quick steals into extra offensive possessions for her team.

Devone showed me she was heady, pressure was irrelevant, and her decision-making was another plus. She saw the floor and attacked the basket plus her defense was solid
