Alex Flattery of Sioux City East High School is one of the most complete and respectable prospects throughout this 2024 Class. Flattery is a versatile Combo Guard with the ability to score in bunches in the blink of an eye, while also being a stout defender. Over the past four seasons, she has continuously showed her worth on the Varsity floor, no matter who is placed around her. At the next level, she will be competing with a D2 program in Nebraska – Kearney, that she ended up choosing over some other D1’s that had interest. In this Update, Flattery sits at 31 to end her career throughout the state but you could justify her being a Top 15 player in this Class. It all depends how you look at things. She is a monster on the boards, she has a lethal handle, and she is someone that her teammates can trust in. She is also as loyal as they come as a teammate but it would not surprised me if she shines as a Freshman and gets the opportunity to compete with a Power – 5 collegiate program at the end of the day. She is that complete as a prospect. I’m not sure what exactly her future holds but she gets a ton of respect from me on the hardwood. This is a player that I wouldn’t mind personally coaching or having on my squad. She does a lot of great things on the floor and she is only going to get better at the next level. Just sit back and watch.

Alex Flattery is having an underrated Senior season this winter for her Sioux City East team. Flattery is a college committed player, that has the ability to step up and into any position needed on the high school floor. Offensively, she can handle and attack in a number of ways. If the defense tries to over help, she is pretty good at finding an open teammate. Defensively, she is physical. She makes smart plays and is not afraid to mix it up with anyone else bigger near the rim. On a team that debatably has three future D1 players, to stand out each night is impressive. If she can keep this up and all of those said players step up, this team is going to be tough to stop when it comes to the Playoff’s in a few weeks.

Alex Flattery had to step up big time in her teams past few games. With her teams best 3 out of 4 players being out due to sickness or injury, Flattery has been tasked to step up in a big way. On Saturday, Flattery was her teams engine on both sides of the floor. She never stopped moving and was being productive both on and off of the ball. I’ve only had a limited chance prior to this to see Flattery play and she has gotten much better. She is a college level player that will definitely help whatever team she is lacing up with in that moment. If she continues to keep up her aggressive play while everyone else returns to their roster, this team is going to be scary during the Playoffs.
