Bennon is a newcomer to the now 1A Cavaliers from Legacy Early College. Her nickname may be “Quiet Storm,” but her play is sure to have Christ Church aficionados screaming at the top of their lungs in cheers. Bennon understands how to organize an offense in a halfcourt set and can impress with her footwork and ball handling skills. A midrange jumper is part of Bennon’s overall offensive repertoire and she is unafraid to play the game on contact and take her chances at the free throw line. In her team’s matchup against 4A Pickens, Bennon finished with seven points.

The Cavaliers needed someone to replace the production they got from McCall King, who will begin her first season at the college ranks with UNC-Wilmington. Bennon, a transfer from Legacy Early College, is not a bad choice to run point for Christ Church in the coming pair of seasons. She is what one would think when they envision the term “floor general” as she understands how to organize an offense for a halfcourt play. Bennon also knows how to get crafty with her ball handling and can make accurate passes. She also shoots the ball with a great deal of efficiency from long range.

Bennon made the move this summer over to Christ Church after playing at Legacy Early College. Alexandria is quick off the dribble at times and turning the corner to get to the basket. She can set up shop out on the wing and knockdown some shots if you leave her open.

It may be difficult to fill the shoes of Cavaliers great McCall King who is now in the college ranks with UNC-Wilmington. Perhaps, that is where Bennon, who previously played at Legacy Early College comes in. The Cavaliers will enter the season as a 1A team the year after they won a state championship as a 2A school. Bennon is coming off an AAU season with coach Milton Parks at FBC Carolina Hawks Elite 17U. She is a classic floor general that can organize an offense in a half-court set. Bennon also is an accurate shooter from long range and makes accurate passes. She can get creative with her ball handling as well.
