Weaver is one of the most underrated players I saw this season. Despite playing on a loaded Manual team, she always impacted the game for the Crimsons. For starters, she can really disrupt the opponents offense with her defensive abilities. She consistently made things hard on whoever she was guarding. On the other end of the floor, she didn’t force shots and really did a great job of creating good looks for both herself and her teammates. She moves without the basketball to get into the gaps and when she has the ball, she attacks those gaps. Weaver is a great shooter who can knock down shots inside or out. She averaged 10.4 PPG and 2.3 RPG, while shooting 49.4% from 3. Weaver will be heading to Three River College next season.

Weaver has moved up and down the rankings over her career but she finished moving all the way up from 84 to 29th overall. Manual was one of the top teams in the state all season long and Alexia’s consistent play was one big reason why. She’s an impactful player on both ends of the court.

Weaver had 16 points in only 21 minutes of play. She hit 4 3-pointers in the victory on Saturday, but her outside shooting is just one of the aspect’s that make her dangerous. She can knock down 3’s just as easily as she can shot fake and go around her defender. She plays with high energy and intensity. She also added a rebound and 2 steals.

Weaver was really scoring the ball well. She was a tough match-up for opposing teams because of the many different ways she was putting the ball in the basket. She knocked down outside shots on the move and directly off of the catch. Weaver made great drives and threw some terrific passes when help defense stepped over. She was handling the ball well even when she was being pressured hard. Weaver was also making big plays defensively. She has good hands and can get steals on the ball, but she was also getting into the passing lanes for steals.

Weaver showed her ability to score in a variety of ways. She can knock down outside shots, pull up jumpers, or get to the rim. She used her quick first step to go right past the defense. However, what really impressed me was Weaver’s leadership on the floor. I kept hearing her direct her teammates to the right positions both offensively and defensively.
