Alexis received an MVP selection from the Midwest Recruiting Resource following a dominant two-way performance at the Headliners Invitational Showcase. She’ll also be receiving recognition as First Team All-Showcase. Her college range, deadly three-point accuracy, hustle, and defensive prowess separated her on the court. Alexis was one of the most disruptive and aggressive defenders in the gym. She sprinted back to block a shot in transition, hit the deck to scrap for loose balls, stole the ball away at half, and crashed the boards to score a putback with her left. Every three for Alexis in my notebook was deep. She drained deep threes from straight on and from the wing, then anticipated closeouts to rip by and attack with a burst downhill. She penetrated off the drive and finished layups efficiently at the rim. Alexis froze a defender with a pocket dribble, then shifted gears to score a drive-by layup. She forced the defense to send her to the free-throw line and stuffed the stat sheet. Alexis will be shooting up the rankings, and she looks ready for a monster sophomore campaign at Schoolcraft.

Alexis is a fast-twitch point guard who has the quickness and handles needed to create space off the bounce, accelerate to the rim for layups, while also possessing the three-point accuracy, range, and confidence to make defense pay for giving her space to shoot. Alexis got past the first level with a quick crossover dribble and created open looks for shooters by drawing the help, then kicked passes out on a rope. Alexis got a defender to bite with a rim look off on the perimeter, then went by with a burst to get to the basket. Her presence as a facilitator and poised ball-handler stood out for Team 5 at the PGH Michigan Expo.

Alexis had a phenomenal weekend for KBA 15U at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, and her efforts helped her team finish as runner-ups in the Silver bracket. Alexis is a three-level scorer who competes with an endless supply of energy and hustle. She doesn’t stop defending, rebounding, or making plays on either end. Alexis sprinted in to secure offensive rebounds and score full-speed layups comfortably with either hand at the rim. She picked off passes and stripped the ball away on defense to score breakaway layups. One of my favorite plays was when she jumped up to deflect a pass, chased down the loose ball, quickly accelerated towards the basket, switched to her left, then scored the and-one layup through contact. Alexis has another gear off the dribble, drained catch-and-shoot threes off the hop, and got to the rim whenever she needed to. She averaged 19 points throughout the tournament and made a huge statement over the weekend.

Alexis, a guard for Kalamazoo Basketball Academy, made a strong impact at the Battle in the Mitten with her quickness and defensive instincts. She was disruptive on the perimeter, consistently coming away with steals and turning them into offense, including a coast-to-coast finish that resulted in an and-one. Alexis also showed her ability to navigate traffic, finishing effectively around the basket even with defenders closing in. Her speed, toughness, and ability to create plays on both ends made her a standout throughout the weekend.

Alexis went off for a career-high 31 points and nine steals during a 71-9 win against Coloma. She drained three triples and scored 17 points in a 45-21 win vs. Constantine.
