Aleya is a top freshman in the entire state and has a high understanding of her role on the court. She knows how to get buckets with ease, being able to attack the ball or show off her elite jumper and knock down shots with ease. She started off her high school career with 21 points on 9-13 shooting in her first ever game. She hasn’t missed a step since then, contributing for her team at a high level.

Aleya is one of the best shooters in this class. She has a smooth lefty shot, being able to get her shot off quickly and sink multiple in a row if she finds her rhythm. Smith handles the ball well too, attacking with both hands effectively and being able to break down defenders with her dribble. She always has her eyes up, finding open teammates and always making the extra pass.

Smith is a true combo guard who can run the show, find and create passing lanes, and has a sweet shot out to three. She plays strong on the outside with pivots and rips, and does a great job keeping her head up on drives to find tight windows to her teammates for easy buckets. Look out for her with Union this season.
