Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Alison earned All-Conference Select honors in 2023 and her contributions on both sides of the ball will be significant for Howell to repeat as division champions. Alison hits timely shots in big moments, is an efficient perimeter shooter, and finishes well around the rim. She pushes the offensive tempo and handles the ball with poise. Alison provides defensive intensity, verbal communication, and leadership that sparks the team. She will be an All-Conference Select candidate once again in 2024.

Farr is a poised point guard with next-level court vision. She can handle pressure and is a vocal leader on the floor. She uses a jab-step to blow by her defenders, and she is not afraid of contact when she gets in the lane. Alison has some options to play at the next level, and I’m excited to see where she will choose.

– Received an offer from Siena Heights University.
Farr would be a great addition to any program. She’s dependable with the ball, can score and distribute and will be able to defend at the next level.

Received an offer from The University of Olivet.
Solid offer for one of the better leaders out there. Farr also bring 2 way energy, a solid jumper, and a smart passer.

Farr should get some looks this weekend with her Michigan Drive Express E40 team. She’s very underrated in my opinion and this is a great weekend for a college coach to see her game and get started on bringing a gem to their program. Farr is a supremely efficient guard that can beat pressure with both the dribble and the pass. She’s a high energy perimeter defender and a natural leader.

was able to make important shots late for the Highlanders and she will need to make shots again for them to win on Monday. Alison sets the standard for defensive communication, pressure, and hard work. She will need to shut down her assignment, rebound, and create offense under duress against an extremely athletic and fast opponent.

came up big for Howell in the final moments of the fourth quarter and into a tight overtime finish. She scored a floater late in the fourth before Hartland tied it up, scored another floater in OT, and converted a strong finish through contact in the paint late in OT. Alison’s ball handling under pressure and scoring in the final moments helped secure Howell’s second district championship over Hartland in the past two years.

is an all around impact player for the Highlanders. She will be instrumental in the team’s success this postseason because there will be times when the team needs her to hit outside shots and provide a spark offensively. Her defensive energy, ball handling skills, and ability to score tough buckets at the rim will be important for the team to make a deep run.

This Howell backcourt has a chance to be dominating over the next couple of years. If you’ve followed my work for a while, you probably know that I’ve been a huge fan of Farr’s game for quite some time now. Well Friday night just reaffirmed what I thought before. She’s a leader on the floor and the type that every championship team needs. Farr does a lot of things well, but it’s her grit and passion for play on the defensive end that always stands out to me. She looked really athletic taking the ball to the right on Friday. Farr was able to push the pace off the bounce as well as with an accurate downcourt pass. She also had a solid pass to a cutter on the move that led to an assist.

Farr has always been a shooter, but she just keeps getting better at it as well. Her jumper is just really tough to defend. She can get it off quickly and isn’t fazed by defenders closing out.
