About Aliyah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a point guard who focuses on directing traffic, making the right reads, and creating opportunities for my teammates through strong passing and decision-making. I take pride in rebounding, playing tough defense, communicating constantly on the court, encouraging my teammates, and leading by example as a captain and team leader.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe myself as hardworking, competitive, and team-oriented. I stay positive, encourage others, and always look for ways to improve while doing whatever it takes to help my team succeed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I have received an Attendance Award and a Science Award. These awards show that I work hard in school, stay committed, and take my academics seriously.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through basketball by communicating with my teammates, encouraging others, and leading by example on and off the court. Being a leader has also helped me become more responsible, confident, and able to work well with different people toward a common goal.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I faced a significant challenge in 9th grade when I developed plantar fasciitis. It was difficult because it caused pain in my foot and affected my ability to play basketball, but it taught me perseverance, patience, and the importance of taking care of my body while working through setbacks.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is the right fit for me both academically and athletically. I want a program where I can continue to develop as a basketball player, build strong relationships with coaches and teammates, and attend a school that will support my goals on and off the court.
