About Amirah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as aggressive, versatile, and high-IQ. I play with an attacking mindset, always looking to put pressure on defenders while creating scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates. My court vision and decision-making allow me to control the tempo and make smart plays in both transition and half-court situations. On defense, I bring energy and intensity, working

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my mentality as focused, competitive, and resilient. I take pride in staying disciplined and putting in consistent work, even when no one is watching. I’m the type of player who stays composed under pressure and looks at challenges as opportunities to grow. As a teammate, I bring positive energy, accountability, and a team-first mindset. Overall, my personality reflects confidence

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I stay actively involved outside of basketball by participating in different school and community activities. I volunteer with children’s church, which has helped me grow in my faith while also giving back and supporting others. I’m also part of the Spanish immersion program at my school, which has strengthened my language skills and cultural awareness.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through basketball, learning how to communicate effectively and make smart decisions under pressure. Volunteering with children’s church has taught me responsibility and how to mentor and support others. Being part of the Spanish immersion program has strengthened my adaptability and cultural awareness, helping me grow as a well-rounded person.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced challenges balancing my academics, basketball, and extracurricular activities, which has required a lot of discipline and time management. Learning to stay focused and push through setbacks, both on and off the court, has been a big part of my growth. These experiences have taught me resilience and how to stay determined even when things get tough.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that values both academics and athletics, where I can continue to grow as a student-athlete. I want a program with a strong basketball team and coaching staff that will help me develop my skills and compete at a high level. It’s also important to me that the school offers a supportive community and opportunities for personal and academic growth.
