Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would say my style is to play an up-tempo game with a team that moves the ball, looking for inside shots as well as perimeter ones. I'm aggressive on D and love playing at the top of full-court pressure.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality is always play to win, no matter what the record or reputation of the other team is. I hate to lose and want teammates that believe every game is an opportunity to win. Because I play 2 sports, I have a lot of experience with different coaching styles and personalities, and it's taught me to be flexible and tough. Away from sport, I'm pretty laid back.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Student Council, Reading Outreach, Purple Craze (student organization supporting sports teams), volunteer basketball coach. Academic All-Conference Award 2x.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have learned so much by being on teams! The most important is learning to work with people that have different personalities, styles and work ethics, but who all have the same common goal. I've developed leadership and communication skills as a captain, and learned that teammates will remember what you do more than what you say.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I'm not sure this would be called significant, but I'm a 4 year varsity player that took a step back midway through 10th grade. Up to that point, I had very limited playing time and my confidence was pretty low. I asked to move down to JV to in order to develop and come back stronger to varsity. That made a huge difference! I rejoined varsity for state playoffs and contributed meaningful points.
What type of college are you looking for?
I would like a college where I can make an immediate impact for the team. It's also important to have an active and involved student body on campus. A college that offers assistance with internships and hands-on experience is a criteria, because that's a key component of becoming a physical therapist. Ideally, I'm looking for a mid-sized southeast college in an urban/suburban setting.
