Ashlyn has been a beast in the back court for KBA 17U on the PGH Circuit, and that continued Saturday morning at the Great Lakes Region Finals. She used a quick rip move to beat her defender with a burst down the baseline and dropped in a pizza pie floater over the help. Her scrappy defensive pressure created steals and she frequently hit the deck to secure loose balls. Ashlyn went back to the well for a rip drive floater high off the glass, and her dribble penetration gave the team an edge.

Ashlyn is a pit bull point guard prospect who chases down ball-handlers with her all-out pressure and drives down the lane with fearless toughness. I’ll paint a picture real quick: picked off a pass for a speedy layup, hard drive layup in traffic, backdoor cut catch and one, and-one drive in top gear, good footwork in the paint, shifty inside-out dribble layup, hesi crossover drive-by layup, shot out of a cannon and leaps up to snag a rebound, hard drive in transition for a layup. Ashlyn doesn’t shy away from contact, and her clear two-way impact led to a victory for KBA 17U and a Bronze Championship Game MVP selection.

Flint had an outstanding performance in the win over Kent City. While her winning shot was the highlight of the night, she played a great all-around game, scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds. Her maturity on the court as a freshman is impressive, and I am excited to see her play for the next four years. Kenowa has a bright future ahead with players like her on the team.

Flint looked like a veteran on her Kenowa Hills team this fall. The Point Guard will handle pressure and make the right decisions for her team. She attacks the rim and can knock down the outside shot. I look forward to watching her accomplishments this freshman season.

Flint handles the ball at a high level. She is a great passer and had a nice no-look pass while attacking the rim to her post player. She had a great day, but the highlight might have been the top of the key 3-pointer to give her team the lead with just under a minute left in the game.
