Lyla was a breakout player for MBA 15U UAA at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. She had the look of determination and her aggressiveness stood out immensely during the game. Lyla raced in to secure a rebound, switched hands comfortably in the open court, protected the ball like a running back driving through contact on her way to the basket, got fouled, and made both free throws. Her pesky pressure on the defensive end generated steals and she was productive on the boards. Lyla went by using a quick rip move from the wing to hit a contested pull-up in the paint and made a great transfer for a catch and finish layup with her inside hand in traffic. One of Lyla’s highlight plays was a full-speed drive by where she changed hands to score a strong and-one layup with her left hand, then knocked down the free throw to complete the three point play. She’s a crafty, elusive, quick, and skilled two-way point guard to keep on your radar.
