About Ashtyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'd describe my gameplay style as strategic, I'm always looking for the next opportunity to assist my team, whether it's stealing the ball, defending the basket, or shooting a 3. I'm focused, diligent and it's important to me to be a good teammate, being willing to pass if someone has a better shot and always improving.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a driven personality, and my mentality is to constantly push myself. It's important to me to always do my best, and I can be described as serious, but I love to laugh with my friends too.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I raise and show livestock nationally through 4-H and the National Pygmy Goat Association, winning multiple showmanship and grand champion awards for the animals I've raised. I'm also active in 4-H as our club vice president.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through 4-H and church I've volunteered in my community, working with animal shelters and our recycling/road clean-up program locally. I'm vice president in my 4-H club, focusing on growing my leadership skills both on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My brother, Kaden, is on the autism spectrum. I've watched him overcome challenges and supporting him through some of it has been hard for me as well. It's made me adaptable, and I couldn't be prouder of him.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that has a strong academic program, focusing on sports medicine/exercise science, as well as a competitive women's basketball team where I can make an impact as a player and teammate.
