About Ashtyn
Expert Analysis
Grant McGinnis | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The folks in Perham having been telling us about Kunza’s potential for a long time now. Right on cue Ashtyn elevated her game when it mattered most, emerging as a key contributor during Perham’s postseason run. Averaging 6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists with 66 steals on the season, she brought energy and hustle to spare. Kunza started every game at State and showed no fear in big moments, consistently making smart plays. She’s a crafty ball handler who attacks off the dribble and, like pretty much all Perham players, can knock down shots from deep. Defensively, she’s relentless, jumping passing lanes and chasing rebounds with urgency. With added physicality, Kunza’s already dynamic game could reach another level.

Kunza is a guard who gives maximum effort on both ends of the floor. Offensively, if she isn’t receiving the outlet pass, she’s sprinting the lane to give the ballhandler another option. When she attacked the basket, she displayed a variety of finishes, showing the work she’s been putting in. On defense, she didn’t let size slow her down, recording some impressive blocks and holding her own against bigger guards. One thing is certain: you won’t outwork this up-and-coming prospect.
