Forney has a knack for making plays on both sides of the floor that lead to buckets. On offense, she is smart and finds the open teammate with her court vision. Forney plays passing lanes and is very good at getting steals that lead to transitional points. Throughout the grassroots season, Forney accepted the challenge of covering the team’s best ball handler. She has the quickness to cut off angles. It was more of the same at the Wildcat shootout. Forney is a rising young player who continues to get better each time out.

Throughout the weekend; she comfortably blended responsibilities, handling the basketball when needed, initiating offense at times, and making plays within the flow of the game. Her athleticism and feel for the game allowed her to impact multiple areas without needing to be the focal point of every possession. Defensively, Forney took on challenging backcourt assignments and did an excellent job applying pressure to opposing guards. Her quickness allowed her to cut off driving angles, stay in front of ball handlers, and disrupt offensive rhythm throughout the game. In a notable matchup against a talented opposing guard, Forney held her ground and competed at a high level from start to finish. She also ran the floor exceptionally well in transition, creating opportunities on both ends of the floor through effort and athleticism. As a combo guard capable of defending, handling, and contributing offensively in a variety of ways, Forney proved to be one of the more dependable and versatile backcourt players at the event.

Quick, physical, and aggressive in the passing lanes, she showed excellent anticipation and speed defensively. Her ability to pressure the ball and create turnovers gave her team extra possessions and added energy on the defensive end. Forney also played well at the point guard position. She was impressive at getting the ball to her scorers, putting her team in the right offensive sets, and distributing the ball effectively.
