The EBF Rockets are my favorite to win the 2A Class State Title next week in Des Moines. This group brings together a few key elements and that’s why they are so tough to beat. They have a heavy senior-led group, they have size at every position, they have multiple college committed athletes, and they have a great coaching system in place. All of these things are a major key into a team’s success in the long run and that’s why I think they can go all the way. Someone from this team that has recently committed to compete at the next level this fall is their starting SG, Ava Eastlick Ava Eastlick 5'4" | SG Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont | 2025 State IA . Eastlick has been a staple of this program for years. She has been someone that her teammates can trust in to get an open look on the offensive end, while being a scrappy defender as well. If you are an undersized guard, you have to be able to hit open shots from deep and you have to be able to defend. If you do both of those things, you can play at the next level and Eastlick checks both of those boxes.

EBF is going to be a legit threat this Winter to a lot of programs that they matchup against because of their deep bench, smart coaching staff, and their standout prospects. Someone that returns for them for her Senior season from the SG spot, that is going to light it up this Winter is Ava Eastlick Ava Eastlick 5'4" | SG Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont | 2025 State IA . Eastlick registered over 5 three pointers in her team’s 12 point victory over Cascade on Saturday in Cedar Rapids and this is really just a demonstration of what she can really do. Eastlick is someone that might not be the tallest but she plays with heart and a sniper from deep. Those two things can take you a lot of places, so it’ll be interesting to see how this program’s year unfolds if they get her the ball in favorable positions.

Coming into the rankings at #46 we have Ava Eastlick Ava Eastlick 5'4" | SG Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont | 2025 State IA . Eastlick, a 5’5 shooting guard, was a dominate force the past two high school seasons scoring the ball for her high school team. A player that moves up and down the floor with lightning speed in attempts to beat her defender for an easy bucket at the time or to spot up for a three from deep. I’m going to have a chance to see Ava play live this July and I’m expecting to see a lot of fireworks. With a flamethrower of a shooting arm like she has, she could go off at any moment, but we will just have to see.

Only player on this team that is playing up. Elite shooter who can hit 3/4 threes in row, changing the outcome of the contest. Her best ability is shooting but she can do some other things as well such as pass efficiently, playing excellent on-ball defense, and beat her opponent off the dribble if they happen to over-play her jumper shot. Going to be a great piece for this team. Someone who can help spread the floor for maximum offensive efficiency on every play.
