Karrington Asp Karrington Asp 6’2″ | PF Western Dubuque | 2025 State IA is a player that has shown over this past 6 months that she is one of the best in the 2025 class, especially at the power forward position. Coaches love a player who has a high motor, plays physical basketball on both sides of the floor, and combines both of those things with some skill and coordination. That’s Asp for ya. An athlete with a physical demeanor, who would be labelled as a “stat-stuffer” with how many categories she impacts on the court. Overall, Asp has a nice looking future ahead. She is going to receive some real interest over this next few months, leading into the high school season. Someone with her ability and size, is a commodity for a coach at any level.
#25. Jordan Valley Jordan Valley 5'6" | SG Hampton-Dumont-CAL | 2025 State IA – Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School
Jumping into our rankings for the first time and already cracking the Top 25 at #25 is Jordan Valley Jordan Valley 5’6″ | SG Hampton-Dumont-CAL | 2025 State IA . Valley, a 5’5 guard, is tough. She has the ability to do several things when the ball is in her hands coming down the floor. I think that most would call her a point guard who can score but to me, she is a scoring guard or shooting guard. The way she attacks the defense and gets to the spots she want to, usually ending in a bucket for herself or an open teammate. Her three level scoring ability is one of the better ones I’ve seen this spring. With the work she is putting in i’m sure she is going to have a nice upcoming July with her Lady Martin Bros 16U team but only time will tell.
#37. Devon Carlile Devon Carlile 5'7" | PG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2025 State IA – Dallas Center-Grimes High School
Devon Carlile Devon Carlile 5’7″ | PG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2025 State IA had herself an impressive spring with her Waukee Jam Girls team. The 5’7 point guard knocked down most of her open looks, created for others wether it was off of the dribble or off of the catch, and set up her teammates for success on both sides of the floor. That last part is what’s most important to me. A point guard MUST be a conscious and efficient leader at all times, no matter what. Carlile showed that all spring long while helping her team succeed. Coming into this ranking update she is placed at #37 with some room to grow. If she keeps working hard and keeps displaying all that stuff I listed above, she will keep moving up on this list as times goes on.
Highlights
#46. Ava Eastlick Ava Eastlick 5'4" | SG Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont | 2025 State IA – Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School
Coming into the rankings at #46 we have Ava Eastlick Ava Eastlick 5’4″ | SG Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont | 2025 State IA . Eastlick, a 5’5 shooting guard, was a dominate force the past two high school seasons scoring the ball for her high school team. A player that moves up and down the floor with lightning speed in attempts to beat her defender for an easy bucket at the time or to spot up for a three from deep. I’m going to have a chance to see Ava play live this July and I’m expecting to see a lot of fireworks. With a flamethrower of a shooting arm like she has, she could go off at any moment, but we will just have to see.
#53. Lauren McLaughlin Lauren McLaughlin 6'1" | SF Algona | 2025 State IA – Algona High School
Leah McLaughlin is definitely one of the more interest prospects throughout the 2025 class here in Iowa. A player who has great length at 6’2 with the ability to step out and knock down a three pointer on a consistent basis. You can tell that she has a lot of room to grow when it comes to the “fluid-ness” of the game and that’s ok. She has a fairly high ceiling with a nice foundation right now to work with. If she can keep on building on what she is good at and stay confident, she is going to have a great year for her Algona high school this winter.
