About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a point guard but can also play the guard position. I look to drive and dish/kick, play fast in transition, be active on defense since I am a quick person Im a pest on defense. Shooting threes and driving to the hoop are two big aspects of my game on offense. I move off the ball and cut hard. My ball handling allows me to beat a man to man press. Communication on defense/offense is a strength.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an unselfish player. I put my teammates before myself and I play to win, not for individual statistics. I believe defense creates offense so I always try to make that a key aspect of my game rather than scoring. I have a strong passion for basketball and always have fun playing it. Growing up I played basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. I still play soccer for varsity but quit lacrosse.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Inducted to National Honors Society. Active member of Key Club and Homeless Solutions club since freshman year. Volunteered at work family after school program and a soccer training session 3x a week last spring. Camp counselor since freshman year at 4 camps (2 of are basketball). Work at a pool in the summer. Babysit.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

By being a part of these clubs/organizations I have learned leadership, responsibility, and teamwork.

What type of college are you looking for?

Small/medium sized. Safe. Looking to have a connection with coaches, players, and professors. Any college that is willing to take me as a player and see my ability to work hard every day and improve along the journey.
