Sophomore Ava Wheeler Ava Wheeler 5'7" | SG Cocke County | 2028 TN played a monumental role in Cocke County High School, making it all the way to the state semifinal.
Wheeler, in two games at the state tournament, had a total of six 3-pointers. The bulk of these made happened in the first round, where Wheeler made five 3-pointers. She went 5-11 from distance in the matchup against Liberty Creek High School.
Wheeler’s shooting mechanics were some of the best at the state tournament. Her shot is repeatable, helping her to have games like the one she had against Liberty Creek. Wheeler is also a solid wing defender, and as she continues to move forward in her high school career, she will only improve. In the state tournament, she had three steals.

his sharpshooter was in her bag as she led the charge for her club. Finishing with 19 points, she went 5-11 from three and 6-13 inside the arc. Playing with such confidence, she not only played spectacular offense, but did her thing on the defensive side of the ball as well. She stepped it up and delivered when her name was called. Look for her to ramp it up even more as her team advances to the final 4 round of the 3A state championships.
