Region 2-3A Offseason Radar Watch

As the season gets closer, the series of players to watch continues in the Class of 3A in Region 2. Here are five players in the region to know before the 2026-2027 school season begins.    [player_tooltip player_id='907560' first='Tymirrianna' last='Brown'] is a true three-level scorer, and that should help her have a great senior season.   Brown can score in the paint, acting as a driver and cutter. She can generate buckets from there by either using fancy footwork to redirect to open space or just by accepting the contact and scoring through it.   Brown, also as a SG, can dribble up into pull-up mid-range shots and can lace in 3-pointers at a clip where her perimeter shooting can take over a game. In a contest against Northview Academy last season, she made five 3-pointers.   Brown is also a standout defender, especially with regard to her paint defense. In a game last season, she had five blocks against Knoxville Catholic.     [player_tooltip player_id='1859002' first='Jyree' last='Shepard'], with the mix of her sharpshooting and dribbling skills, could have an extremely impressive junior season.   Shepard is also a player who can take over games with her perimeter shot. She had several games with two or more made 3-pointers last season, including an outing against Cherokee High School where she made seven 3-pointers.   Shepard, also unlike a lot of sharpshooters at the SG position, can shoot off the dribble effectively. One action she likes to generate 3-pointers off of is just bringing the ball up the court. If a defender gives her space at the top of the key, she is not afraid to let a shot fly and make the defense pay.     [player_tooltip player_id='821831' first='Uriah' last='Davis'] has the capabilities to be one of the best defenders in her class in her junior season.   Davis's ability to move at her height is rare. She has fluid side-to-side movement on the perimeter, which is the result of good fundamentals and natural talent. With that, she can guard positions 1-5. Davis, with her versatility, is a constant disruptor on defense. That was showcased a number of times in her junior season, including a game against Crockett County where she had four blocks.   Davis at the PF position can also be a great spacer with her 3-point jumper.     [player_tooltip player_id='1445593' first='Ava' last='Wheeler'] was a great floor spacer in her 2025-2026 team's run to being a part of the state tournament.   Wheeler's main skill in her game is her shooting. She does a great job of remaining patient in offensive sets and being ready when an open perimeter shot presents itself. Wheeler is especially a dangerous shooter from the corners.   While Wheeler is mainly a shooting threat, she also has another strong offensive part of her game: floaters. Wheeler's shooting touch is still elite when she attacks the basket. She can shoot these floaters over taller defenders at full speed while driving toward the basket.     [player_tooltip player_id='821711' first='Cailyn' last='Taylor'] will bring a vast offensive game with her to her senior season, but her perimeter defensive abilities are what help her stand out as one of the better players in her class.   Taylor is not afraid to play up on her defensive assignment. The effort she puts forth, paired with her speed hallows her to do this. That can make her a difficult player to get past, and with her speed and IQ, she is also a steal threat in passing lanes. Last season against Campbell County High School, she had seven steals.   Clinton also does not give up on plays. With that, she can turn an advantageous fast-break scenario into a possession that turns into a turnover for the opposing team. A couple of her steals against Campbell County were on plays where she trailed the initial offensive attack.
