Avery is someone that Fargo North is excited about. She has big-time potential and a committed work ethic. She started last season as primarily a JV player but continued to grind and worked her way into playing two halves of varsity by the end of the season. She played her best in North’s EDC game against West Fargo where she led the Spartans in scoring, steals, and assists. I visited with Coach Baarstad about Avery and here is what he had to say: “Avery is going to be an impact player for us this year playing primarily at the point guard position. She does a good job at getting the flow of the offense going. She is a great on-ball defender and communicator on the floor. She is a hard-nosed player that will do what is asked.”
