Avery proved herself time and again, disrupting a high-rated D1 post prospect in the paint at BCAM Reaching Higher, in addition to her dominance for MBA Rise 16U on the PGH Circuit. She has unique athleticism at her size, 6-foot-3 length, and mobility that translate directly to high levels of college basketball in the frontcourt. Avery has good hands and scoring touch around the basket. She made a strong impression as a high-level prospect on the circuit in front of our scouts, both in and out of state. Avery protects the rim as a shot blocker and forces misses with excellent body control in the paint. Her footwork, aggressiveness in scoring through contact, and ability to attack as a face-up driver have improved. She hasn’t peaked and has one of the highest ceilings in this class.

Avery was outright dominant for MBA Rise 16U at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. She possesses can’t miss towering height, mobility, and an athletic frame. Avery rotated to block shots, used a strong power move to drive through a defender’s chest, then finished off two feet. She sealed defenders off in the paint, caught passes with good hands, and finished off two. One of her best moves happened when she caught a pass, used a shot-fake to freeze her defender, then dribbled by for the layup. Avery was aggressive and took advantage of her size advantage, owning the post on both ends of the court. She demonstrated good footwork, pivoting patiently to create space, then finished well off two feet.

You can’t teach height.   I love Avery’s potential.  She has the muscle, the length, and the willingness to be a next level baller!  Solid pick and rolls, keeps her composure, and her game is only going to keep rising!

Avery has a towering stature that immediately demands your attention when she steps onto the court. At the PGH Michigan State Tournament, Avery moved to gaps in the zone and finished shots around the rim off two feet. Avery secured offensive rebounds to score put backs and runs the floor well. She looks like a forward who can grow into a very promising college prospect.
