Long, lean, and left-handed. Scruggs’ southpaw game in the post creates problems for defenders whenever she gets her back to the basket. Her ability to score from uncommon angles, combined with smooth footwork and touch around the rim, makes her a difficult cover inside.

Defensively, she uses her length and reach to alter and block shots. Utilizing her left-handed timing often matching up perfectly against right-handed shooters. On the wing, her combination of size, mobility, and natural feel gives her the tools to create matchup problems for unsuspecting defenders in the Class of 2027.

Scruggs embraced her role last season on a loaded roster that featured three college-committed players. She carved out a niche as a reliable and impactful presence. Her willingness to do the dirty work made her an essential piece to her team’s success.

Production
Operating as a fourth scoring option, Scruggs made her mark through rebounding, rim protection, and energy plays that don’t always show up in the box score. Her 6’1” frame allowed her to control the glass and alter shots defensively.

Skill Set
A left-handed forward with size and physicality, Scruggs thrives around the basket. She finishes effectively at the rim and has shown flashes of touch in the mid-range. Defensively, she provides shot-blocking ability and interior presence, while her motor and toughness consistently impact possessions.

Projection
With increased opportunity heading into her senior season, expect Scruggs’ numbers to take a noticeable jump. As her offensive consistency continues to develop, she has the tools to emerge as a more complete and productive option. Whe that happens she will be a player to watch in the 757.

Good inside-out player with strong presence when she is in the paint with solid footwork with good back-to-the-basket fundamentals. Good in the face up game when she is going downhill as well and has the size to finish over smaller players. Active defender on the perimeter and can alters driving lanes with her athleticism. A force on the glass Avia has the skill set to get a defensive rebound and take it coast to coast for a layup!

Brings solid size and athleticism to her position, and it makes her a very tough matchup for her opponents. She does a good job of exploiting mismatches and getting what she wants at the offensive end. Active defender who effectively guards multiple spots on the perimeter. 

First year with Grassfield is a versatile offensive threat who can score in multiple ways. Is good on the transition break after a missed shot or a rebound. Does a nice job of turning defense into offense by keeping her hands active and looking to pick up steals and deflections.

Avia is a capable scorer from all over the floor you can tell some development and her skill set that is advanced from last year! She brings excellent size and athleticism to the wing spot; her 5-foot-11 frame allows her to match up with multiple positions. Now she shows she’s shooting the three point shot whether it’s a spot up or transition! A very versatile defender with her athleticism she is capable of guarding all five positions!

Her energy, defensive instincts, and shooting at her size make her a player to watch. Avia has consistently improved her three-point shot, and it’s now a strong suit of her game. Avia does her best work spotting up, and her improved shot is a reason why she has gotten more attention this summer. She is a good athlete, so teams worry about her getting to the rim, so that opens up a lot of looks for her. Avia will be a high-level shooter and is already a good off-ball player on offense while giving you excellent defense.
