Expert Analysis

It comes as no surprise that Caskey was a standout performer at Sunday’s showcase. A top 50 ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the New London-Spicer senior is a gifted athlete with a never-ending motor. Ayla impacted the game in every way, scoring at all three levels and providing a major defensive threat for team 3. On offense, the 5’8 guard excelled at getting downhill to the rim. With an explosive first step, crafty ball handling, and the ability to absorb contact from the defense, there wasn’t much that could stop her from scoring in the paint. We will surely see more of the same in her final season with the Wildcats.

Caskey was one of the most athletic players in attendance at the Expo. When she jumped, she seemed to be floating on air. Defensively, that athleticism was on full display as she was able to play a physical brand of basketball due to her strong frame and did so without fouling. On the offensive side of things, she plays with good pace and attacks the rim using her leaping ability to finish over much bigger players. Ayla scored just under 17 points per game last season while leading her New London-Spicer squad to the Class AA state tournament where the Wildcats came up just short in the consolation title game. She’ll be looking to get back to the big dance, and with how she’s playing, she appears up to the task.
