Flight got off to a hot start and it was with Brantley at the controls. A couple early paint touches from her led to easy three pointers for her teammates. Then she added in a couple threes of her own. Her quickness and handles even gave quality defenders on the otherside pause. As she can glide by opponents or pull up and drain jumpers with ease.
It wasn’t always easy for Brantley though, as it was a physical contest and at times she had issues with turnovers. Including a tough one in the final minute where she floated a crosscourt pass that was picked off. It was a learning experience for one of the top prospects in Oklahoma. Her eagerness to blend her scoring bag with setting up teammates speaks very well to her long term potential as a Power 4 prospect.

The Class of 2029 is blessed with quite a few players who could be considered the top prospect, and Brantley has a strong case. She is a complete guard on the offensive end. Silky long range jumpers off the dribble are a common sight from the lefty. Has nasty stepbacks and pull ups. Her one legged fadeway will likely become nearly unguardable one on one in Oklahoma.
She’s still working through the balance between getting hers and setting the table for her teammates. As there are times it looks like she’s more focused on being unselfish rather than just hooping. It’s a good problem to have, as she’s likely only to get better and better. Brantley capped off her freshman campaign as a key part of a dominant Class 3A Washington State Championship team.

It speaks to the talent level of Brantley that it didn’t feel like an A game for the freshman, but she still went for 15 points, 5 boards, 3 assists and 5 steals. The defensive steel was impressive in the second half. Because along with the quick hands to be disruptive, she stepped up and took a big charge. Offensively, it wasn’t her best finishing day and she had a couple issues with turnovers. But the overall talent and high potential remain clear as day for Brantley.

The last time watching Brantley was in December. The two games were promising, but still had a getting her feet wet feeling. It’s only about six weeks later and she’s already full adapted and thriving at the varsity level. Went off for 25 points in top ranked 3A Washington’s win over 19th ranked 4A Elk City. And it looked like she never broke a sweat. Smooth and always in control, she feasted in transition. Including draining a pull up three to cap the second quarter. Then was similarly graceful in the halfcourt. Drained a a crossover into a stepback three like she was a senior. Mississippi State recently offered and they won’t be the last college for this big time freshman.

First saw Brantley when she was a 6th grader at K-8 Blanchard, and coaches were already curious as to where she would play HS ball. Powerhouse Washington has been able to plug her in and she immediately catches your eye. Lefty jumper, shifty in traffic, plays with a unique swagger and intensity for a freshman.

What a luxury for the defending Class 3A champions to bring a talented freshman off the bench. Hit double figures in the first half, much of it coming in a quick stretch in the second quarter. Ankle snatching crossovers to get to the rim. Along with bombing threes. The lefty has a scoring skillset of an upperclassman and is a quality passer as well. The talent well clearly isn’t running dry anytime soon for the Lady Warriors.
