Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I have been taught how to play the game on both ends and how to really think the game using my basketball IQ as a separator. I can shoot at a high level, very efficient at or near %40 from 3FG my last two seasons. I move really well without the basketball using pin, flare, down screens, and timely cuts. I play both ends of the floor guarding the best player and my game translates to college.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I'm ultra-competitive - I HATE losing; I want to be a great teammate that help my teammates on the court whether that is encouragement after a mistake or helping them know where they are supposed to be in our offense or on defense. My dad has always taught me to be coachable - look the coach in the eyes, acknowledge their feedback, and execute.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Our program's culture is built on leadership and teamwork - it is what allows us to win games, but its more than words. We are put in situations to practice and develop. Also, my school is big on community service - we are required to get 100 hours before graduation and we annually do something in the community to serve someone less fortunate than ourselves.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes, maybe nothing as deep as someone with a real life problem like cancer or something of that nature. I know its all relative. In 8th grade I was tasked with leading older girls including seniors in a losing program when I arrived, so I had to learn how to navigate my competitiveness, develop ability to connect and communicate with everyone, and earn their trust as the best player as a peer.
What type of college are you looking for?
My style probably fits more of a midwest style of basketball my dad says, moving without the ball, using screens, facilitating and leading. Instead of a type of college, its more of a style such as a Davidson, Creighton, Green Bay, Michigan, Iowa, Oklahoma, etc.
