Blanca Thomas was blocking shots on repeat in the paint taking care of business on defense.  She used her strong presence in the paint to slow the momentum from her opponents making some nice post moves to score at the rim.  She did well moving from block to block, and she was especially ready for the pass from her high post teammate hitting her in stride to score some points.

Blanca Thomas finished her high school career with a 16 point and 11 rebound performance. Thomas was extremely efficient on the court and drained 8 of her 11 shot attempts from the field. She also blocked 4 shots and altered multiple other shots around the rim. Thomas finished her career averaging over 18 points and 11 rebounds per contest for the Cougars. 

Blanca Thomas brought some life to her team in the first quarter getting offensive rebounds for some points and sealing off her opponents for the entry pass to get the bucket.  She battled through contact making old fashioned three point plays.  She certainly draws a lot of attention to her, and she continues to fight through any kind of defense that comes her way.

In a battle against Independence, the UNC signee scored 26 points. Thomas was dominant in the paint, but she also drained 3 three-pointers in the game. It seemed fitting as the Cougars senior leader, Thomas secured the victory by connecting on two huge free throws at the end of the game. 

Blanca has already solidified her status as being amongst the best in the nation. Her next step is the coveted NC 4A Championship game. If she continues to play the way she did today, this will not be far-fetched at all. Catholic will go as far as the North Carolina commit will take them and when she plays angry there is no one who can stop her given her size and all-around basketball ability. We all know she can score but the way she passes the ball at her size must be noted. She can see over the top of defenders and can pass precisely out of the top of the key. This is vital to keep defenders from clogging up the middle. Blanca is simply a “must-see” for any basketball fan. 

Like Ella, Blanca also needs no introduction. Blanca is a sure two points when she gets the ball down low. She possesses natural strength and  will redirect everything away from the basket on defense. She has the mobility to get up and down the floor and does a good job defending the rim without fouling. She is an unbelievably good basketball player that is continuing to have an unbelievably good career.

Blanca Thomas continued to have a strong inside presence scoring off offensive rebounds and converting from the free throw line.  She was constantly causing problems for her opponents being able to grab rebounds no matter where the ball was coming down.  She battled through contact for her points making some old fashioned three point plays.

Blanca Thomas has expanded the court knocking down her shot from deep.  She had a nice spin move in the paint for two points.  She is patient finding the right spots to grab rebounds on both ends of the court.  Her power dribbles and post moves throwing off her opponents with fakes are definitely difficult to defend.  She seals off her opponents making sure they can throw it to her as she steps into the shot.  She ran a dish and go play perfectly getting the pass for the bucket.

Blanca Thomas Blanca Thomas 6'5" | C Charlotte Catholic | 2024 State NC runs the floor well using her length to catch passes or knock the ball away while defending a fast break.  She was blocking shots in the paint with ease.  She knows exactly how to move her body in order to turn and face the basket for some points.  She’d still find ways to get lost by the defense to slide into an opening and put the ball through the hoop.

Blanca Thomas Blanca Thomas 6'5" | C Charlotte Catholic | 2024 State NC (featured photo) is one of the top prospects in the nation for the class of 2024.  Her height certainly makes her a future Divison I college prospect, but she has the post moves to back up her ability to play at a top level.  She does a great job widening her stance to seal off her opponents and score even when she gets the pass with her back to the basket.  She crashes the boards to grab rebounds with ease, and she knows exactly how to push it up the other end or score off of offensive rebounds.  She recently announced her top 10 schools: UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Tennessee, Louisville, Notre Dame, Standard, South Carolina, and Duke.
