Brekklyn Coltrane of Westview High School has been someone that we’ve seen a lot of leading up to her Freshman season on the AAU scene and at PGH events. Coltrane has moments of being a lights-out shooter. She has a really fundamental jumper, that usually always looks like it’s going in when she releases it from the outside. Not to mention, like any shooter, she can heat up in the blink of an eye, once she see’s one go in. If she can continue to stack days and she works on her other abilities, she will like where it takes her on her basketball journey.

“Brekklyn Coltrane is going to see a lot of time on whatever team she competes with at Westview High School this Winter and I’m excited to see what she does. You can tell that her job is to shoot the ball offensively but she is also smart enough not to force it. She takes what’s open, looks for her spots in both the half court and transition, and she is a willing passer to anyone around her that may be open. As long as she continues to fall in love with the process, I’m sure she is going to be a lights out player on both sides of the ball as an upperclassmen.

compete, she is someone that is easy to spot on the floor because of how involved in each set-play she gets. She might not average 25 a game just yet but I do think that she will have those capabilities by the time she gets to her upperclassman years at Westview High School if she continues to work on her craft. She has demonstrated that she has a solid shot form on rotation from deep, she can finish at the rim, she can pass to others that maybe open, and she is scrappy on defense for her size. Her ability to defend and create for others is what will keep her on the floor, along with her shooting efficiency these next four years at the high school level.

a few times leading up to this Update and she has always done a great job of standing out in her own little ways. She is a steady producer on both sides of the ball, she can defend in the full court, and she can out-hustle anyone put in front of her. As long as she makes the most of her chances when she gets them on the Varsity floor, I think she is going to do really well. She isn’t a flashy player but she knows how to get a bucket or how to make a play for her teammates at times. If she can grow with that moving forward, the future is bright.

. Coltrane is a spark plug. She brings the energy every time she steps on the court, giving it her best effort in every situations. Not to mention, she is fantastic at lining up shots from deep and knocking them down. One of her best assets is that she doesn’t settle. She may have the ability to shoot the ball far away from the hoop but she doesn’t live off of that. Instead, she attacks her opponent in any way that they might give her. I guess what I’m saying is that she keeps it simple and because of that, she is successful. This Winter Coltrane will join Westview High School to compete. She is going to be someone that can make her mark with whatever team that she is playing with so it’ll be exciting to see where she can take things over these next four years.
