In this article we cover five prospects that I would consider Play-Makers. Each one of these individuals has demonstrated that they have some raw talent, that will be useful at the high school level in some form or facet this upcoming Winter.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
I had the chance to see Alivia Kuhn Alivia Kuhn 5’8″ | CG Marian | 2028 NE compete earlier this year and she did not disappoint. Kuhn has some nice size standing at 5’10 and she moves really well. The biggest thing that stood out to me about her play-style is that she just makes things happen. She is one of those players you can give the ball to and say, “go to work”. She has a silky smooth jumper from the perimeter, while being productive getting to the mid-range or the rim for a finish. This Winter Kuhn will be attending Marian High School to compete. I’m not sure if she going to see the Varsity floor right away but I would imagine that by the time she is a Sophomore, she will be playing significant minutes. She has raw talent and she is someone that is always working to get better. If she can keep that up moving into this high school season, she is going to be successful, no matter what team she is on.
Allie John Allie John 6’0″ | SF Bennington | 2028 NE is a prospect that could grow into being the #1 ranked player out of this 2028 Class throughout the state of Nebraska this next few months. John is 6’0 and versatile. She can score from all three levels like a Guard, while putting up some crazy numbers in the Rebounding department. From example in one of her last middle school games, John recorded a 20-20 game. This AAU season she will be playing up a grade level and competing with ETG Midwest Elite ‘s 15U 3SSB team. Pretty impressive considering that this group is an Adidas sponsored program with some ballers in every age group. As it pertains to talented prospects that demonstrated talent, physicality, smarts, and coordination, John is in that conversation all while standing at 6’0. If she can continue to work on her weaknesses, I’m sure she is going to be someone we hear a lot about this Spring/Summer season going into the high school year.

If you have been paying attention this past year, you have heard a lot about the Dolliver family and their success on the hardwood. Well it doesn’t stop there. Another prospect that will be stepping on the court for Malcolm High School comes to us in the form of Payton Dolliver Payton Dolliver 5’8″ | CG Malcolm | 2028 NE . Payton may only be going into her Freshman year but she has some decent size for her age and she is athletic. She is a multi-sport athlete that happens to be impressive on the Volleyball court as well. I haven’t had a chance to see too much of Payton play basketball but if her sister is any indication of what she might be, then she is going to be just fine. She has lengthy arms and she can cover ground quick. I’m sure we are going to find out about her game sooner rather than later during the high school season but we will just have to wait and see moving forward.

When talking about prospects that have high motors, high energy, and some high level knowledge of the game, someone that stands out from this 2028 Class is Brekklyn Coltrane Brekklyn Coltrane 5’5″ | SG Westview | 2028 NE . Coltrane is a spark plug. She brings the energy every time she steps on the court, giving it her best effort in every situations. Not to mention, she is fantastic at lining up shots from deep and knocking them down. One of her best assets is that she doesn’t settle. She may have the ability to shoot the ball far away from the hoop but she doesn’t live off of that. Instead, she attacks her opponent in any way that they might give her. I guess what I’m saying is that she keeps it simple and because of that, she is successful. This Winter Coltrane will join Westview High School to compete. She is going to be someone that can make her mark with whatever team that she is playing with so it’ll be exciting to see where she can take things over these next four years.

Liv Schieber Liv Schieber 5’8″ | PG Elkhorn South | 2028 NE is going to be playing up and competing with Nebraska Supreme 15U team for this next few months and that is going to do her wonders in the long run. Schieber is a guard, that can move around the floor to all the different Guard positions at this moment in time but her best ability seems to be at the 1 spot, bringing up the basketball. From what I’ve seen, Schieber is coordinated with a tight handle, smooth when attacking, and willing to do whatever it takes to get her teammates the ball in the open court. I’m not sure how she is going to fit in with this Supreme group but she is someone to watch this year. She could make waves in more ways than one if put in the correct situations.
