About Brooke

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

-I play as a guard. -I mostly am a shooting guard, but I also play point guard for both high school and club. -I enjoy being versatile like that because I think I learn more and help my team in many ways. -My teams run the floor, so I am very conditioned and my basketball IQ is high so I get the ball down the floor to put pressure on the defense. -I am tall, long and athletic.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a team-oriented player and I work hard. I have been told I am very coachable and a quick learner. I am fun to be around and I care about others. I have a strong mentality for my goals. I have a mental training coach that I have been working with who has taken my game to the next level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

-Dean's List for all 3 years of High School -Active in Baking and Paws club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was selected for a leadership activity through my school and I am very proud of that. I am a very active community member and donate my time regularly. I lead through example and through my relationships with my people.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I feel like with school and with sports, there are always challenges. Some bigger than others. When faced with a challenge, I first assess what I can control and then I figure out what I can do to influence this challenge in a positive manner. I am not a complainer. I am a doer.

What type of college are you looking for?

• I want a team that gets along with each other. I want a team who works together to achieve our goal. I want to be in a positive environment where everyone is supported. I want coaches and trainers that help make me better.

Nowak and the growth in her game have been impressive. She is still more of a shooting guard, but I like her developing playmaking skills. She is much more confident in her ball handling, and that has made her passing improve as well. She should be in for a big senior season.
