Kicking off our last Player Rankings Update for the 2024 Class in the #5 spot is a Guard that is going to shine at the next level with her Northwest Missouri State team and that individual is Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA . Stanley has been a constant on the High School Varsity floor the past four seasons and she can’t wait to graduate, taking her talents to the next level. I would describe Stanley’s play-style as calm but sophisticated. She moves effortlessly with the ball in her hands, while being a fantastic passer. She is an athlete that is very good once she gets into the teeth of defense, usually making a play in one way or another. This previous past few months, Stanley left it all out on the floor and she should be really proud of that. She had a high school career to remember and she is going to be remember within that Bishop Heelan program for the foreseeable future because of it.

Bishop Heelan is one of the states premier squads once again this winter and the main reason for that in my opinion is Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA . Stanley is a game manger at the PG position, that can score. She does a great job setting up the teammate around her and running the offense that her coaches have installed. She is committed to play at the D2 level next season but first, she is going to help her Crusaders team try to make it to the State championship, hoping to bring back some hardware to the Sioux City Area. Which is definitely possible. This team returns talent from last season, while adding a star Freshman or two. If they stay focused, they will be one of the hardest teams to beat at the Well this February.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA is going to have an interesting season ahead of her this winter at Bishop Heelan. Stanley is a quick thinking and fast stepping Point Guard, that is very creative with the ball in her hands. When I saw her compete live most recently, there weren’t many defenders who could stay in front of her throughout the contest. Stanley is the type of Point Guard who can run her teams set-offense or she can score from multiple levels by creating for herself off of the dribble. The skill-side of the her game is obviously there but I think her best attribute is her ability to make everyone else around her better. That’s the sign of someone who can become a successful college guard moving forward. I’m excited to see what Bishop Heelan can do this season. With Stanley at the front of the pack, anything is possible.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA was one of the best point guards that I saw play last season during the high school year. Going into this winter I expect the same thing from Stanley, as she will try to take her Bishop Heelan high school team back to the state tournament in Des Moines. Stanley is a shifty point guard who can score. She has an aggressive attack on the offensive side of things while always being calculated at the same time. She is definitely an elite scoring point guard compared to the competition around her. Defensively, she works just as hard and sticks to her opponent like glue. She is a player you can tell to pick up in the full court for a full game and she would do just fine. I’m excited to see what she can do over the next few months. With her skill, a lot is possible.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA really showed off this season that she is a big time point guard who will shine on the biggest of stages when it comes down to it. Stanley is a motivator, a floor general, the definition of a captain. She wills her team to be better on every possession while giving it all she has on a nightly basis. During her high school teams playoff run into the state tournament this year she showed that she was a dominate force at the point guard position with the ability to fill any guard spot needed between the 1-3. She does everything the coach asks of her while also being a dynamic playmaker when her team seems to need it the most. She is a difference maker. Looking toward the future i’m sure her college interest will keep on the rise. She is the type of player you can bring into a college program right away and she will make a positive impact on the floor while bringing a good mind-set along with her.

I mentioned Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA in an article earlier this week about how well she played in her state tournament but when doing an article on the best point guard’s I saw this week, Stanley must be included once again. She is a bucket. She has an efficient handle, a lot of skill moves, and the ability to score from all three levels on the floor, all through she specialized in getting to the rim this past week. If we are talking about the best point guard’s I saw in their ability to create their own separation and get a great look at the hoop, Stanley is top 2 and she may not be #2. It’d be a tough debate between her game-play and Aaliyah Riley Aaliyah Riley 5'7" | PG Johnston | 2024 State IA ‘s of the Johnston Dragons. I’m excited to see her play this AAU season and where she ends up committing to within the next year, whoever is getting her is receiving a great player and an even better point guard.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA left everything on the floor on Thursday night in their loss in the Semi’s VS North Polk. Stanley, a vocal and emotional leader of this team, did everything she could and more for her teammates in this contest. She was the constant scoring threat that North Polk had to defend, she was the top of their 1-3-1 the ENTIRE game creating steals and deflections, and the thing that stuck out to me the most is how well she kept the team together. It was inspiring. Someone who after timeouts gets the five girls who are on the floor, together, so they can speak and regroup. Someone who would do anything for her people and do anything to see them win. In this contest a specific moment stood-out to me. At the end of this game with about 30 seconds left their starting 5 got subbed out. All 5 players subbed out, grabbed each other and hugged each other in a huddle on the sideline for about a minute or two, this was one of the greatest things I’ve seen this week. Bishop Heelan tonight showed everyone in that gym that no matter win or lose, it’s about being apart of a team that feels like your family. Hats off to BH. As for Stanley, I’m excited to see her shake this off and get into the AAU season with her SD Attack team. She is going to get a lot of interest with the way she plays. She is the definition of a player who plays with their heart on their sleeve out there. Something quiet impressive and others should take notes on.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA plays with a tenacity and dedication you don’t see from most. She leaves everything out on the floor. Wether it’s diving for loose balls, guarding her opponent full court, or being supportive for her teammates, you always know that Stanley is giving it her all. This is just one of many reasons as to why this group has put together the season they have up until this point in the year. Stanley is the leader of this squad, averaging 14 PPG on 48% shooting along with dishing out 3.5 APG from her guard position. Two numbers that need to stay consistent through this playoff ran for the Crusaders. Stanley shows promise. I like her game and think it will definitely be able to translate to the college level if she were to choose so but for right now she Is worried about one thing and one thing only, beating the Xavier Saints next week in their first round matchup and moving one step closer to being named a state champion.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA jumps into the top 5 in this rankings update going into the 22′-23′ season for Bishop Heelan Catholic High School of Sioux City, Iowa. Stanley put together a great season as a sophomore for her squad leading them in scoring with 14 PPG while also ranking 2nd on the team in assists and rebounds on the way to the state championship. The crafty point guard is an overall leader with a higher ceiling than most. She is a good handler of the ball, passes off of two feet, shoots with balance, and has a good step through move when heading toward the basket that has been very successful. She plays the top of her high school’s 1-3-1 zone defense and really lives off of reading passing lanes, leading to several lay ups for herself and her teammates as they run the floor in transition. When she is open for a jump shot she has a good release with high arc. She may not be the most consistent at shooting the ball just yet but with time and experience, it’ll become more efficient. I’m excited to see what this team can do behind Stanley this season as they will return almost everyone from a year ago with deep bench experience to follow.

Brooklyn Stanley Brooklyn Stanley 5'8" | PG Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA finds herself in the top 5 of this rankings update coming in at the #4 spot. Stanley, a high motor point guard, has shown over this past season why she is deserving of this ranking. Being an unquestionable leader who can do it all for her team while defending at a high level. The thing that most impresses me about her game is her ability to guard and defend the entire length of the floor, for the entire game. At a good size at 5’8 with great agility, she is built to keep going and get stronger as the game goes on. When you add this skill and physical ability together, you get a very solid player that can impact the game at a higher college level from the start. This winter Stanley will keep the same energy she has been the past few seasons in hope of leading her team to a successful year while bring in more and more college interest as time goes on.
