What I like most about the Green Bay Preble guard is her responsibility with the ball. Lucassen isn’t flashy and doesn’t try to force too much with the ball in her hands. The Hornet shot the ball efficiently and helped the Hornets compete with the top middle-of-the-pack FRCC teams. Lucassen isn’t the most prominent name in the 2026 guard class, but she helped herself over the high school season. Scholarship-level programs should look at her if they have room to do so. Even if she doesn’t land in a scholarship program, high-level D3s will love Lucassen.

What I love about Lucassen is her situational awareness. Usually, when I see guards who can score, they get tunnel vision and want to attack at all times. However, Lucassen is a little different. In games where she doesn’t score, she turns more into an initiator and focuses on that. She won’t have games where she shoots 2/14 because if shots aren’t falling for her, she’ll create them for others, which is what it means to be a lead guard. Lucassen may not average massive numbers at Preble, but people will probably love playing with her.

I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Lucassen’s work ethic and approach to the game from college coaches and people who’ve been around. The Preble guard impacts people, and I understand why that’s the case. She plays hard, can get by her initial defender, doesn’t shy away from contact, makes shots, and wants to get her teammates involved. She’s the type of kid coaches recruit and players want to play with. Lucassen may fly under the radar depending on the team’s success at Preble over the next few seasons, but coaches will love her once they talk to her and the people around her.
