Class of 2030 Watch List Debut: Who Could Crack the Top 10?

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">This class has had its first run with their high school programs over the past couple of weeks as summer league action has started up, and from there, some names have immediately stood out. With nothing but time on their side, these prospects are still being evaluated and have room to develop. Below are some players who have been standouts throughout the AAU season and could find themselves featured in the Top 10 when our official rankings release in the winter.</h3>    Most young players with length and frame at this age are rarely coordinated, but Augustyn does not fall into that category. She is an issue to deal with from the free throw line and down. She has strong hands, good feel around the basket, and doesn't seem to shy away from contact. Her development will come from expanding the areas where she can be effective on the floor, and time is on her side to do so. She has the tools to be a major piece for her high school program going forward. One of the top post players in this class for sure.     Shifty, aggressive, and explosive. Muhammad already has the mentality of a high-level talent, and it aligns perfectly with how she plays this game. The handles are strong, the lack of fear is evident, and she shows the ability to score from the midrange to the rim. Defensively, she continues to show separation. She is a ball hawk and will go after any loose ball that's near her. A player to continue to watch as time goes on.     Montini will always be home to some of the best guards in Illinois and to come out of Illinois, and they've just added another name to that list. Dye will be a key piece for the future of this program, and the majority of her impact now will be on both ends of the floor, especially on offense. Her size doesn't push her away from dealing with or seeking contact, and when she gets to the rim, it's usually a finish. Keep an eye on Khyan as time goes on.     Taylor has been a prospect to watch since 7th grade, and when you see her play, it's not hard to see why multiple programs were interested. She is a workhorse and has no off button in how she plays. Tough is the word that comes to mind. She doesn't back down from tie-ups and is not afraid to disrupt an offense. High motor, matched with a need to win. What she brings to the floor doesn't need to be measured by how many points she physically scores because a majority of the points her team gets will come from her hustle and work. However, the development from a scoring standpoint will have to increase, but with time she can find herself being a 3&D or slasher type of player. Big fan of how this kid approaches each possession.     There is a consensus among almost everyone in Illinois that Joy is the top prospect in this class and one of the best young players in the state. Her game is beyond her years, and it's the poise and control she plays with that points to a very high ceiling, not to mention coming from a family of high-level athletes. Even though there's a gap between herself and other prospects in this class, there is still room for growth, and that will come with time. As of now, she's a player you have to watch in person. Film simply doesn't do justice to how talented she truly is.
