A three-level scorer with the “it” factor, James competes comfortably against any competition and has an array of tools to counter whatever the defense throws at her. Take away the drive, and she can hurt you with her jumper. Play her tight, and she can blow by her defender to finish at the rim or knock down a floater. Her ability stands out, but it’s her confidence and execution when the game matters most that make her special.

Callie is already proven at the varsity level after leading her team in scoring, assists, and steals as an eighth grader. A big, strong guard for the Class of 2030, she pairs good handles with the ability to get downhill and create scoring opportunities for herself or draw help defenders before finding open teammates. She also scores efficiently at all three levels to give her an offensive skill set that stands out among her peers. With her team losing some key pieces to graduation but adding reinforcements through transfers, Callie should remain a major contributor as she takes on another important role this season.

Callie was effective getting into the paint and using her physicality around the rim. She showed good control with one-hand finishes and did a nice job creating space through contact for an and-one in the lane. A shot fake followed by a step-through was another example of her ability to use her footwork to create an advantage. Callie is a name familiar to many, and she showed just why in Longwood.

James can provide instant offense with her ability to shoot the three, attack the basket, and finish going either left or right. She is savvy with the basketball and has a knack for finding ways to put the ball in the basket. James plays with confidence, gets herself open, takes good shots, and consistently puts pressure on the defense. She also brings leadership to the floor and has the ability to energize those around her. James is a proven scorer and playmaker who should be one of the players setting the tone at the upcoming Freshman Showcase.

Against her peers at our PGH tournament, James was dominant. She was equally impressive, with her efficiency and confidence being the qualities that stood out most. Competing against older players can challenge even the best young prospects, but James never looked overwhelmed. She scored the ball at all three levels and consistently found ways to counter what the defense gave her. That ability to adjust, make the right reads, and continue producing offensively highlighted the growth in her game and showed she is developing into a pick-your-poison guard.

Callie is one of the most gifted offensive players in Florida’s 2030 class and has the ability to put points on the board in a hurry. She can score from all three levels, creates offense in a variety of ways, and consistently finds opportunities to impact the game as a scorer or distributor. Callie has already accumulated valuable experience through travel ball competition and varsity-level minutes, giving her a head start against many players her age. Her body control, basketball IQ, and poise stand out, particularly in pressure situations. She has also continued to improve her quickness and overall athleticism, which has helped her become more effective creating separation and attacking defenses. As she gains more confidence defensively, Callie has the potential to become one of the most complete and dangerous prospects in the 2030 class.

Callie James Callie James 5'9" | PG Florida-Tallahassee | 2030 FL was impressive all three days, and every time I turned around, the young guard was shooting the lights out of the ball. Watching her play, her handles, defense, her basketball IQ, and her ability to create and convert difficult shots stand out as much as the three-point and midrange shots. James’s name is already known in the basketball circles, and she has created that following as a middle school-aged baller. James enters 9th grade in the fall. There were a lot of good players in the building, and if someone asked who the top 20 shooters in the bnuildingm the just out of 8th grade James’s name would come up.

Callie James Callie James 5'9" | PG Florida-Tallahassee | 2030 FL was one of the most dynamic offensive players in the 14U at Brawl at the Palms, combining relentless rim pressure with an impressive perimeter game. She attacked the basket with purpose, using her quick first step, body control, and aggressiveness to get all the way to the rim and finish with floaters and layups. In transition, she was equally dangerous, grabbing rebounds and pushing the pace to create offense before defenses could get set. While her downhill attacks often grabbed the spotlight, James also knocked down the three-ball off the dribble and in transition. She was among the top three point shooters. Her motor, confidence, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways proved she was one of the most complete and difficult matchups in the division.

While I did not get to sit and watch Callie for a whole game, I was able to watch as much of her as I could throughout the event and I am glad that I did. James reputation proceeded her with the catchy, thoughtful IG handle “Callie From Tally”, so I knew who she was coming in but had not seen her play in person. It did not take long to realize that there was considerable substance behind the hype. Callie is a very talented young player who is putting together a diverse offensive skill set that she utilized to great affect in Wellington. She was intentional with her fakes (head, shot, pass) and had the defensive players off balance and guessing while trying to guard her. She scored from all three levels, multiple times while I watched her. She was putting in work and getting buckets every game I saw her play. She has the moxy and demeanor you would expect from a kid who in all likelihood will be a blue chip recruit for college coaches nationally. She carries herself with confidence and definitely loos the part with good size for her age. I look forward to watching her play again and I hope that is sooner rather than later.

She spaces the floor effectively, stays ready off the ball, and recognizes scoring opportunities when defenses lose focus. She plays with confidence as a shooter and shows comfort operating within the flow of the offense. The young guard has the ability to maneuver to the rim and can finish with floaters and layups. Defensively, she brings toughness and competes through physical play, staying engaged and active on that end. Her combination of off-ball movement, scoring instincts, and competitive on the defensive side of the ball gives her a strong foundation, and she is poised for a big evaluation period.
