Kearney Catholic fell just short last night in a close game against the Holdrege Dusters, 42-38. In the end, the Stars had one player step up big time and that was Callie Squires Callie Squires 6'0" | C Kearney Catholic | 2024 State NE at the Forward position. Squires finished the contest with 19 Points, 8 Rebounds, 1 Assists, 2 Steals, and 1 Block. As you can tell, she was doing all that she could from the Post position while holding her own. Squires natural size of 6’0 helps her in mismatch situations but others need to play off of that. If not, it could be a struggle in the paint because of just how much attention Squires brings to herself. Throughout her teams first 12 games this season, she is averaging 12.3 PPG and 8 RPG, giving her some pretty productive numbers. At the end of the day, Squires is committed to Iowa Westlyn to continue on her Volleyball career following this year. If she is anything on the Volleyball court, like she is on the Basketball court, she is going to thrive.
