Williams play was relentless the entire time she was between court lines. PGH Simmie Colson already broke down her game (read here), and here are my two cents about her play leading Team 5 during the showcase.

Williams’ raw athleticism makes a lot of hard things look easy. She she uses her speed to blow by the defense in transition, and she’s just as difficult to contain in the halfcourt setting. She’s not using a flashy crossover but simply reading when the defense rises in their stance to juke by them. She’s just as dangerous off the ball because she moves well without the ball and can shoot the J.

Williams was very good when I first saw her, and watching her “on the court” progression has her in the double-digit Tip Sheet group before she scores her first varsity basket see evaluations here. She’s more explosive off the dribble, and her body control after contact gave me some acrobatic finishes, but that ain’t all. Not only did she drop the jumper with ease, but her court vision and defense have also shot up

Williams is another freshman I’ve been looking forward to seeing in UIL play. She’s a gametime competitor and her stamina, amongst other factors, allows her to impact both ends of the floor for extended stretches. Beyond being a strong scorer, Williams is an impact player that coaches need the floor because she makes the offense flow by making connecting passes and uses her athleticism to soar in the passing lanes for steals to turn defense to offense.

Williams light keeps getting brighter as she continues to elevate her game see evaluations here, but her upside is what continues to impress me because she’s heady and plays under control, yet her “poise under pressure” and wanting to take the clutch shot as well as deliver are things you can’t teach

Displays high-level anticipation in the full-court press, soaring into passing lanes with elite athleticism to create turnovers and convert those opportunities into offense.

Long + athletic—covers ground and makes plays all over
Defensive disruptor—on-ball pressure, jumping passing lanes, forcing turnovers

She’s the type of player that changes momentum instantly—whether it’s a steal, a stop, or a bucket 👀

Plays with edge. Competes on every possession. Does the dirty work AND produces.

Williams is a “long and athletic” guard who is showing she can change the momentum of a game from either end of the court. Her “on the ball” pressure in the set, as well as baseline to baseline has gotten better, so has her “reading the floor” and playing the passing lane. She attacks the basket from multiple spots, nice body control on her finishes after contact and her pull-up jumper is solid

Williams’ game is ahead of her years, and what impressed me off the top on my initial sighting was her ability to score multiple ways as well as her BB-IQ on both ends of the court see evaluations here. Her smoothness with the ball under pressure is special, and speaking of pressure, she wants the ball in clutch situations and delivers so that, as well as her reading the floor on both ends, speaks to the trouble coming

Williams is one of the top 2030 players I have seen “with my own eyes” and what she brings to the table is a variety of things you can’t teach. She plays up on a team that plays up, and one thing I look for from players who have been in the same group is how they REACT and do things INSTINCTIVELY. She’s already elevating on her jumper, release is quick and fluid, yet she also attacks and scores off the dribble. Her “on the ball” pressure and quick hands to pick pockets looks good, and she plays the passing lane see evaluations here

Williams would have been on my versatile scorers list if she hadn’t shown me how complete her game is becoming. I mentioned positioning in the above paragraph; she gets it already, and playing up doing what she’s doing now is scary. She rebounded, handled the ball afterward in the open court, but her ability to score on putbacks was special as she uses her athleticism well on both ends. She also scored off the dribble, dropped the jumper, and saw the floor, plus her defense was solid
