When you looked at Rock Valley this season, the #1 priority on a scouting report was to stop the shooting from deep but that unplayed the ability of Sophomore CG – Caydence Harmsen Caydence Harmsen 5'9" | CG Rock Valley | 2028 IA . Harmsen is the future for this team. They will return next season as State Champions and she is going to have a lot of the work load when it comes to their future production. That shouldn’t be the hardest task as she put up really good numbers the past 2-3 months. As long as she works hard in her off-season and she comes back motivated, she should be even better the next time we see her take the hardwood but we will see.

take up a lot of attention from opposing defenses, Harmsen does damage from the perimeter and is a consistent difference maker for her team. Caydence makes an impact on both sides of the floor, scoring 12.8 points, pulling in 5.7 rebounds, dishing 6 assists, and nabbing 2 steals per contest. Rock Valley is shooting an impressive 36% 3PT as a team, and Caydence shooting the deep ball at 37% has helped them claim the highest shooting rate in the state. I predict Harmsen will have more under the radar success this week in Des Moines.

There is a lot to like about Caydence Harmsen Caydence Harmsen 5'9" | CG Rock Valley | 2028 IA ‘s game. The 5’9″ sophomore has a great change of speed with the ball and knows how to draw defenders in the lane. Leading the team in assists per game this season at 6.2, the combo guard was strong with the ball in the paint last night and found numerous kickouts for open looks. I loved her ability to put pressure on the defense, control the pace, and show aggression at the point guard spot. She also called her own number a few times when the Rockets needed a bucket, draining two corner threes in the second half.

Caydence Harmsen Caydence Harmsen 5'9" | CG Rock Valley | 2028 IA has been able to step up and play off of the ability of the rest of her teammates so far this Winter season and it’s been noteworthy up to this point. Harmsen is a CG, that can score from all three offensive levels. She has a solid handle attacking off the dribble and she isn’t bad at letting it fly from deep off of the catch. This Winter Harmsen has been averaging numbers from the floor at the 50-55% range overall, while being a high efficiency three point threat as well. Like I said, Harmsen is going to get a lot of opportunities because she has really good guards around her this season. As long as she can continue to capitalize on those opportunities, Rock Valley will continue to stay dangerous.
